Letting go of your past, managing your present, or experiencing worries about your future are some of the difficulties that many people face. Counselling can be a helpful process to gain a new perspective and strategies to cope with your problems. The terms counselling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably, however both have some inherent differences.

Counselling is often focused on a specific problem or set of problems, and is typically a shorter process. Psychotherapy is often a deeper process of examining and treating difficulties in mood, personality, or adjustment that draws from a wide variety of tools and techniques. Psychotherapy is also a term that is protected under legislation and indicates that the therapist has obtained more advanced training.
