This is probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel itself is labeled as being “old world” and “classic”, when in actuality the space is just run down with outdated/dirty furniture and appliances. But the real problem with this place is how unbelievably loud it is from the street noise outside. Like live concert style, windows shaking, you can still feel the noise with headphones in because any piece of furniture you’re sitting on is vibrating…that type of loud. UNTIL 3AM. And the front desk staff could not care less. No help offered from them, not even some ear plugs

Such a cute hotel. Parking is on a separate block in a package but the front desk provides you with a map and explains all your options. The building is old but clean and quiet and it's a perfect location for downtown Victoria.

We went for Santa Claus Parade 2021. Agent on desk on 27th Nov @1500 very nice but... we expected noisy while watching parade from room. But noise continued till 0230 from pubs on streets. Voices were heard and music. Parking was two walking blocks away in pouring rain. Had to wait for parking key as hotel only had two keys. Bathroom ceiling was not clean. One dirty towel was found in bathroom. Beds were uncomfortable. One of the worst hotels we have stayed in. Do not recommend at all.

Horrible management, Unprofessional staff, Zero customer service
My boyfriend and I booked this hotel for two nights in Victoria BC.
When we got to the room, the heater was not working and the room was so cold, when we asked the front desk, the guy, came up and checked the heater and said sorry the heater is not working and we are full and don’t have any room available to give it to you. We asked for the portable heater but even the small heater stopped working. The power/ Electrical outlets in the room were not working, to charge our phone in the room, I had to take my phone in to bathroom

Hotel was ok. Very loud until 3am (to be expected right downtown above the bars) but what grossed me out was the state of the room. Dirty coffee cups (very obvious standing upright and stained) and the coffee pot still had coffee in it. Seemed an obvious oversight. Also under the bed was dirty with used elastic bands. A simple check would have found them.
Made me question the sheets!

We loved the location, staying only one night. The rooms were definitely different, not your cookie cutter hotel room. Good to see a heritage hotel put to use again. The lobby needs some fixing up
All in all great spot in downtown Victoria
put to such good use

Very strict credit card policy. No debit or cash acceptance no matter what, they'll leave you homeless if you don't pay them they way they want. I was robbed the night before and therefore my cards were stolen and canceled and they didn't accept my payment in cash. Staff is arrogant and not helpful at all, they won't grant you what is offered in the reservation, it's first come first serve. I left very angry and frustrated. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Victoria has great service anywhere you go, not there. Room smell bad to smoke.

This is the loveliest hotel in the perfect location. The rooms are so clean and lovely and the staff are so helpful and kind. It is the perfect place to stay in Victoria amongst the other gorgeous buildings there. A lovely cafe Murchies tea and coffee is just next to the hotel and the hotel is situated in the heart of everything but it was a very quiet and comfortable stay. We hope to stay many more times in the future.

Adored our stay. Wood burning fireplace in February was priceless. Location was amazing, close to EVERYTHING!! Room was old and character filled, I’d have expected nothing less. Details down to the old books.
I bet it’s not everyone’s taste, but for us it was the best.

No parking For any vehicle over 6ft 2”. Parking is 2 blocks away if you fit and is also 18.00 a night. If not , it’s 6 blocks away an pay for overnight city parking with no security. Rooms reek of smoke. A/c units are bolted in with plywood into windows with extension cords. Showers have hand pump dispensers for shampoo or conditioner. Said shampoo is dawn dish soap. No phone in room. Rooms face each other with curtains. Only positives is that’s downtown close to bars.
