Services
Our Physiotherapists have undergone extensive postgraduate training, have the highest ethical standards, and many years of treatment experience. Sara is a Physiotherapist and the owner of Health Skills Physiotherapy. A native of Halifax, Sara earned her B.Sc. From Saint Mary's University, and her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from The University of Western Ontario.
You are the most important member of your rehabilitation team. We provide you personalized care, respecting your individual needs, providing you with the 'health skills' you need to return to what you love to do. We provide one-on-one service by Physiotherapists. We do not treat multiple patients at a time, nor do we replace your Physiotherapist with support staff or assistants during your session.
A visit to your Physiotherapist for a preventative health plan is recommended prior to surgical procedures, the start of a new activity, or at the beginning of your sport season. A physiotherapy check-up should be scheduled every 6 months and is a proactive step to pick up potential musculoskeletal problems early and make sure they stay away.
Whether it's a recent sporting injury, or a long-term issue that you've had for years, we will listen and work with you to find the best evidence, best practice solution. We believe that excellent Physiotherapy begins with a comprehensive physical evaluation to determine the mechanisms responsible for your pain.
We now know that the brain and nervous system undergo profound changes as pain persists and successful pain management requires treatment of these structures. We provide a range of contemporary techniques and therapies that incorporate the latest principles of neuroscience to target these changes to reduce pain and improve performance.
