Very friendly staff and manager, clean and comfortable with great price. Went to concert at Save-On arena, this hotel was close and easy to get to and from where we were going. Would definitely stay again and will recommend to friends. For a short stay I'd highly recommend this place. It was not only clean, but also quiet and very helpful staff.

The Inn was clean, the staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable. They accommodated our room request to the 1st floor as my elderly grandmother has trouble with stairs and there is no elevator. It was a seamless check in and check out and a perfect room for the two of us for one night. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that the parking is very tight and the lot is shared with National car rental. I understand that parking is at a premium in Victoria and appreciate that the property has limits but I would hesitate to stay there again for that reason which is unfortunate because it was perfect

All looked good ,but within 2 hours of falling asleep, I was bitten by bed bugs. When the lights went on, I found not only the one that bit me, but also about a half dozen total on both beds. Then we sighted cockroaches in the bed and bathroom.
We were offered another room. While I can accept that not all rooms will have bed bugs, cockroaches are known to wander. We left and had to wrap up our belongings in cling wrap and find another hotel. It alsoeant spending several hours washing and treating our clothes and luggage. And we were fortunate to find another hotel at 3 am.

The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Decent price compared to other hotels in the area and not too far from downtown but the noise is insupportable. We kept waking up because of door slamming, bruyant conversations, loud cough etc.) in the hall.I also paid not to be on the 1st floor which we were but I realize afterwards.

Recently renovated with new beds and bathroom. Very clean and bright. Friendly staff, great location a 20 min walk to the downtown parliament buildings in Victoria. This inn is more than a 3 star because of the cleanliness and new beds and bathrooms. Ample parking as well.

Pretty good experience.. Staff were friendly and helpful. Biggest complaint is parking was pretty tight with the National car rental in the same space, a good 1/4 of the stalls at night would be occupied with that.
One minor other complaint I had was the bench right outside the main lobby door. Constantly people smoking there and not even a sign that says no smoking. Might be worth adding a sign... Or moving the bench so people can smoke further from the door.

It was very nice for the appearance the shower looked very nice. It was a good stay with good channels to watch if you had to be there for awhile. The beds were very comfortable. But the price was to high however I would stay there again. One of the best sleeps I had.

Stayed here for five (5) nights, they put us in the lower level (sketchy and very musty smelling) and we were not very impressed. Rooms were overpriced for what was given. The bathroom was redone but poorly done. The shower floor felt as if you were to fall through and the sink tap would fall apart when used. As out of province travelers, they were not very accommodating with arrival and departure requests. The carpets have multiple stains and smells emitting from them. The only plus was the king bed and close location to the bus stops. Worst money I’ve spent in a while. Will not be staying here

Stayed on the bottom floor. It was kind of sketchy. The room was small but the bed was good. You can hear the pipes all night long/water running. Checked for bedbugs -none. The room was not very clean. Coffee spilled in the door, used toothpick on the floor. Luckily I had my own lysol wipes. Overall it was ok for 1 night and cheap price.

Day staff was fantastic. Night staff gave us fear of life time. We were 2 families travelling to Victoria with kids. We were chilling out around 11-1130, This night staff comes and shouts at us that we were loud. We said ok we will keep it low but he threatened to kick us out and said cops will come and throw us out of the hotel in the middle of the night. He was so aggressive and used f word and a word. Then one of our members got upset and said call the manager right away as he said I'm calling manager now.

We were so scared of this guy that we slept with chair blocking the door. See picture

Two of my work colleagues and I stayed at the Arbutus Inn 8/2018 and it was BAD. My room had mold stains on ceiling in bathroom, TV had one channel and housekeeping only visited once over our three night stay; bosses' rooms had dirty sheets, tub that didn't drain and just filthy. Walking down the hall - doors open to guest rooms with guests in bed in their pajamas. Simple amenities like ironing board and iron not provided per room - and the single set borrowed from the lobby was pitiful - covered in nastiness and ruined our clothes. Steer clear.

I'd give it negative stars if I could. The air conditioner doesn't work, works are rude can't answer questions. It's just gross in the rooms. Definitely not worth $190 per night. Never staying here ever again, worst decision of my life

We stayed at the Arbutus Inn for two nights during our stay in Victoria. It was only a few minutes taxi ride to downtown and being outside of town made it quiet for sleeping off a long day walking the city. The room was clean with comfortable beds perfect for our needs and the staff was extremely polite and helpful. They suggested destinations around town and great places to eat. I enjoyed our stay!

This is definitely nothing special. It's basically a place to sleep at night. We stayed here because it was the best price we found that was within reasonable walking distance to the main harbor. The rooms aren't gross, but aren't kept up the best. The furniture was well worn and we found garbage in some of the drawers. As well the bathroom was a little worse for wear with a dripping tap, tolet that was installed very crooked and dirty mirrors throughout the room. Also, both nights we stayed there the cable didn't work and was stuck on one channel lol. But, for us, we spent

Where do I begin? Let's take it from the top... from the moment one approaches the building... As you drive up, you notice the building looks old and dilapidated. Parking is difficult. Front desk was short and impersonal. There are no elevators. The hallways are narrow, dark, musty... the room we got was filthy. Dust on every surface. Mold on the anti-slip tub mat. The sink was old and stained. The mirror was just the same--old, stained from the humidity and small. Old everything!! There was a huge tv console which housed a medium sized tv. It took up so much needed space. The tv console was

Small and stuffy, the best part of this inn is the price. While it's reasonably clean, the inn is minimally maintained and the room we were placed in (basement) felt small and suffocating. It contained holes and cracks in the bathtub, walls, around the heater, etc. The window did not have a screen and was on the lowest level, so we were forced to keep it closed for safety reasons. Because of the suffocating atmosphere and the closed window, we had to keep the air conditioner on all night, which was quite loud. The hotel has a no pet policy but I suspiciously happened to find fur on my socks

This is a basic hotel. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. A plus for us was that there was a car rental at the same location. It's close enough to walk to Chinatown, but we found that we needed a car for anything further. We took the bus easily from the airport and back.

The outside of the Inn, does not look like an Inn. It looks like a budget motel and car rental company merged. But I guess it doesn't really matter what it looks like from the road. As long as it's clean and warm. Which it was. That being said, it's not fancy either, by any stretch.

It's a a standard motel. Nothing special, but it offers a a comfy bed to sleep for a reasonable price. The room and bathroom were clean. The room came with two Queen size beds, which is OK but I'd rather have a king size for the two of us. The beds took up most of the room and with our two large suitcases on the floor there was almost no space to step anywhere. The service at reception was very friendly. We arrived early (two hours before check in) and our room wasn't ready. And they didn't have another free room. But they got house cleaning straight on it and we waited for

Epitome of adequate.

Absolutely nothing special about this place. The beds were comfortable, even though they took up almost all of the floor space of our room. Beds are virtually inaccessible from the wall sides.

Not to be too critical, but the outside of the hotel is shabby looking, and not a good first impression. Then, as we entered the hotel we were greeted by a utility cart which sat at the front entrance for each of the three days of our stay.

Our first human contact was with the National Car desk attendant, who looked like he had just come in from working his crops. The Nike baseball
