Our highly anticipated interior renovations and additions to the Inn have begun. The renovations will include design updates to each of the guest suites, the main floor of the hotel, and the addition of a new guest suite wing, restaurant, spa and banquet facility. Our hotel remains to be a preferred choice of many families and travelers alike, these extensive renovations will allow us to provide the very best experience to our valued clients.
The property is over 100 years old, and rest assured, these upgrades will celebrate the beauty, history and traditions of this property. The English Inn will be closed until the renovations are complete. We apologize for any inconvenience and offer our sincere thanks for your patience and support. If you have any questions, please email us at info@englishinn.ca.

If you can imagine a page out of an old English fairy tale, this is it. If you love old world charm, you will love this place. It's true to its roots... don't expect super modern amenities (for its charm it has plenty of amenities, however!), but expect tons of old world charm. The room was clean, and comfortable. The picturesque building is a marvel to look at! And, close to lots of food, and only minutes from the water.

Very nice building on the outside in a good location. Our room however could use some renovation. It looks all a bit dated and the room organization is less than optimal. Furthermore, the door can't be bolted from the inside and the refrigerator was broken. The included breakfast was okay, but nothing special.

This hotel has the potential to be great but right now its not - so much so that I don't think the rooms at the top of the hotel should be rented at all.
The floor slopes badly so you are continually fighting to stay in the bed, there is no insulation so the room is unbearably hot and no air conditioning other than a standard fan and open windows.
The bathroom door didn't shut properly, there was a big crack across the hand basin, and the light in the bathroom was inadequate. There was also mold around the shower / bath.
To get to these rooms you need to lug your cases up 4 flights of stairs

We were vary disappointed with this location it has no air conditioning and no elevator. We were stuck with the fourth floor room and we would have to carry our luggage up there with narrow stairs to deal with. This Inn is in bad need of a Reno and I would recommend you stay away until that happens besides there are much better options closer to downtown Victoria

The staff was very friendly - so hospitable!!! Nice little lounge where we played Scrabble (provided by the inn). Room was clean and we had a beautiful private rooftop deck. The only room for improvement in my opinion is a new mattress and pillows would make sleeping more comfortable. Excellent stay!

Choosing the English Inn for our wedding was the right decision. The building and grounds are stunning - any wedding photographer's dream. Each room has it's own special character and the authentic old English feel added a touch of magic to the whole celebration, and gave guests from out of town a real 'Victoria' experience. Heather (GM) was very accommodating and was attentive to details, as were all the staff. We especially liked the flexibility in areas where we found other venues to have ridged rules - like set up and take down time restrictions for example. Heather really made our wedding

Unkept walking areas. Beer cans thrown all around the property. Walking areas that were accessible were knee deep with weeds and moss.
Eating area in the morning had mostly broken coffee cups with no handle and coffee cups that appeared to be sugar bowls.
Sitting area had bar stools that were badly stained. Would not sit on them for not knowing what it was from.
Back entrance way dangerous with a burnt out light. Cannot see steps upon entrance due to darkness.
Mentioned this to staff about safety concerns. Nothing was done while we were there.
Room was nice though. Very spacious.
