This also allows us to see more clients by reducing the amount of cleaning and appointment spacing. While we fully understand this is not ideal, our priority is to provide the best service possible while keeping our staff and clients as safe as we can.

Dr. Derek graduated from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at the University of Guelph in 1998. After 8 years of experience in both a busy emergency/critical care practice and day practice, he opened the Dissette Animal Hospital in 2005. He has a particular interest in ultrasound and emergency/critical care.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help to avoid serious health problems. We use extended vaccination protocols tailored to the individual patient based on the most current information available.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Is the anesthetic safe? Just as in humans, there is always risk with anesthesia even in healthy animals.
We have a large waiting area in order to reduce your pets anxiety by not having to sit too close to another animal. This is also where you will find a large selection of prescription pet foods, shampoos, treats etc. We even have toys to entertain your kids while you're visiting us. Because we do a lot of our tests on site, we can provide you with rapid results in many situations.

After having nothing but positive experiences with this vet. I was very disappointed and let down when the notes on file were not read in full details. My dog has epilepsy and there are medications he can't receive or have. The vet without looking at the file went ahead and sent over a prescription to the pharmacy for the pills that could actually kill my dog. I then got a phone call from the vet asking to stop the medication with immediate effect as they prescribed the wrong one. The one they tried to prescribe eats away at his bone marrow and effects the blood cell count which he originally was
