They purchaced the business from Big Al himself in October of 2012. Shawn has 15+ years of experience as a technician and is a Hyundai Master Technician. Shawn is the go to guy for electrical diagnosis and repair. He works extremely hard to make sure our customers are taken care of as best as he possibly can, and it shows!

Shawn helped me in a pinch. I came into his shop while I was in town for work. Little did he know, I was at canadian tire swapping fuses in a dress, at dodge who was less than helpful, and sat in my car crying before I came across his shop. He came out and helped me fix my car in 5 minutes. I don't live in Calgary but spend enough time in town that the next time I need car work, I'll definitely come back here. Merry Christmas, Shawn, and thank you for your help. It would have been a quiet ride to the city!

Have nothing but good things to say about Big Al's Auto. They were able to get me into the shop in a very reasonable time frame, diagnosed my problem right away and did everything to help me get things fixed. They do not gouge you on prices or look to make a cheap buck off their customers. I will certainly be recommending this shop to other people and will be back if anything goes wrong with my car in the future.

I was recommended Big Als by a battery tech when he saw something that he thought was unusual. He recommended them because of their honesty and integrity and they didn’t fail. Turns out the issue was not an issue AT ALL! They did check it out and promptly informed me that all was well. When I came in to pick it up- they NEVER CHARGED ME! April at the front desk is amazing and when I attempted to tip them at the very least, she originally refused and when I persisted she told me that instead they would take that too and put it to their Christmas fundraiser for a needy family. Big Al’s will without a doubt be my mechanic shop. Coming to Lethbridge for school I don’t have the knowledge locals do when it comes to mechanics. I asked a few of the people I knew and they all recommended Big Al’s. April was very excited and very personable when I walked into the shop, being a college student I don’t have a large budget, April was more than willing to go over different costs associated with replacing my alternator, she also got me in as soon as possible so I could make a trip back home. After breaking down in Taber Creek on a Sunday we were towed into Big Al's auto. We are not from the area so were going by reviews and recommendations. We were certainly not steered wrong as we were treated with impecable care by this establishment. The woman who works there, April was both friendly and compassionate to our situation. They had us in and out in record time and had our beautiful G20 back in road worthy condition before we knew it. Not sure how to put this review into words. My daughter moved from Calgary to Lethbridge years ago, and it is a kind of helpless feeling when mechanical issues arise and I can't really do much over the phone. Somehow we got connected to Big Al's. Every time we go they have given us a straight up, simple solution and solved problems where I know they could have taken advantage of the situation. April is very friendly and willing at answer any questions or concerns you may have, plus she's got a great sense of humor and is very easy to talk to. All the mechanics are very friendly and good at what they do. I thought I was hearing some weird sounds indicating that my brake pads were all worn out. They painstakingly did some tests until they were satisfied that there was nothing wrong. And they did it without charging me anything. Very personable receptionist! Very professional mechanics! Over-all great company with great people and great professionalism!
