Dr. Slivka will examine your eyes and educate you on your specific eye conditions, and make recommendations based on those results.

Born and raised in Toronto, optometrist Dr. Jonathan Slivka graduated from The New England College of Optometry. For years, he served the Palm Desert community in California, and along with the Lion's Club, donated his time treating those in need of vision care in Mexico. After returning to Toronto, he provided eye care at the highly renowned Herzig Eye Institute, a laser and cataract surgical centre, and opened Leaside Family Eyecare.

The clinic stocks many brands of contact lenses to help provide you with choices, and to make your fit as efficient as possible. New advancements in contact lenses come out every year, and Dr. Slivka can expertly fit your prescription for maximum eye health, whether it is a simple daily disposable to a lens for astigmatism or bifocals.

Laser vision correction is one of the most exciting technological advancements in recent eye care history. Since the early 1990's, the procedure has evolved dramatically. Generally, there are two ways to utilize the laser for refractive correction - LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) and PRK (photorefractive keratectomy).

Patients 65 years and older and 19 and under will continue to have OHIP coverage for an eye examination once every 12 months. Please remember to bring your valid OHIP card every time you visit the clinic.
