Dr. Mehdi Hassanzadeh is the founder and medical director of North Vancouver Pet Hospital. He graduated in 1986 from Tehran University in Iran and moved to Vancouver in 1996. He was the first Iranian veterinarian who passed the National Board Exams in Canada in 1998. He has been practicing medicine in small animal hospitals in Metro Vancouver for the past 26 years as an associate.

Services
We are pleased to announce the upcoming opening of North Vancouver Pet Hospital in this summer. This brand new hospital is located across the Lynn Valley Center and will be equipped with state of the art equipments and experienced veterinarians to respond to north shore pet household needs and particularly to Lynn Valley residents.

My cat wasn't feeling well and I called and managed to get a same-day appointment! At my old vet's office it would likely have been weeks to get in. The techs and the vet were kind, helpful and thorough. My very anxious cat was the best behaved I've ever seen him and they even had to take a blood sample so that's saying a lot. It was a welcoming place with kind, friendly staff. I was very impressed with North Van's pet hospital.

This morning, my 11 month old puppy ate a toxic flower and needed immediate medical attention. Most of the vet clinics I called on the north shore either had their doctors in surgery, or their only response was to have me drive over town to try and get her into an emergency clinic. I called the staff at North Van pet hospital and they instantly got Dr. Mehdi on the phone with me and he got Gracey and I in within minutes. The staff was very patient with me while I was mid-panic, they took action right away to help Gracey, and at the end Dr. Mehdi came out to explain the process and to give me more

I've been really happy with the quality of care, thoroughness of their questions & investigations about my puppy's health, the staff are experienced + caring, and they follow-up with a call/text after each procedure or vaccination to see how the puppy is doing. Dr. Mehdi is professional & knowledgeable, very personable and provides amazing care to my puppy.

We’ve always received great care for all our pets here. They’ve been our vet for several years caring for 4 guinea pigs and a dog. They are kind, responsive to your needs and always take the time to ensure your questions and concerns are answered. This includes all the staff as well, not just the veterinarians. Highly recommend.

All of the staff here are super friendly and experienced! We've had quite a few health scares with our 15 year old schnauzer poodle but thanks to North Vancouver Pet Hospital Timmy is happy and healthy. It's very reasonably priced and they only recommend scans/tests that they think are actually necessary. We have been to other vets previously that have tried to push us to have absolutely everything ordered. It's refreshing to know that at NVPH they aren't looking for money and they genuinely care about your pets health!

Dr. Medhi is amazing! Found him by accident when our previous vet wasn't willing to help us in an emergency. Our 17 year old cat (who has HATED all veterinarians before) nuzzles him during exams and loves that they let him explore the office before his appointment.
Most recently, we needed to take our boy to the emergency hospital over a holiday weekend. We waited 3 hours for them to try unsuccessfully to examine his mouth and provide us with a $2500 estimate for testing they said was needed. We paid almost $300 for the "exam" and some medication and immediately phoned Dr. Medhi's office to request

I can't say enough about Dr. Mendi and his staff. They are so reliable, friendly and great to deal with. Care and timeliness! Our cat was not eating and we knew he needed help,first thing in the morning we called Dr Mehdi’s office and we were given an appointment in 30 minutes. Our cat given emergency fluids,and a blood work up etc. We picked him up later that morning and brought him home. He had pancreatitis and was in bad shape. Dr Mehdi was very gentle and caring with our cat. He took time to explain everything . It took 5 days, of daily visits,and our cat is now feeling better . The office has both a dog and a cat examining room which we appreciate, it is very clean. All the staff we met

Dr. Hassanzadeh is a fantastic vet! I've recently had the pleasure of making Dr. Hassanzadeh my dog Lola's new vet. He is very knowledgable, honest and caring. My dog is a 12 year old diabetic Puggle and with his help I have been able to better her health and come up with solutions to many ongoing issues she's had in the past. I highly recommend!
