Front desk receptionist (working today around 4pm) genuinely attempted to fit my mother in for an emergency dental appointment despite being fully booked until mid-January. Although it was difficult, she was able to help us and provided excellent customer service. Very happy with the service and specifically the receptionist today.

I don’t know the names but the dentist who handled one of cases and his assistant were awesome!! Friendly smooth hands and kept me busy till they finished all the work.
I am not sure if it’s the right place but I used to visit dental clinics provided with micro cameras where all dentists can show patients what had been done to their teeth. i would love to see this technology implemented at Atlantis.

I’ve been going to Atlantis Dental for years now and they have consistently offered amazing, seamless, friendly service. My needs are met, plans discussed and they never make you feel like another number or try to upsell unnecessary services like other offices I’ve been to. Dr Goldthorpe, Dr Phan, RDH Peter and the rest of the team are amazing!

What a great experience! I know that sounds ridiculous for a dental visit but read on. I had not been to a dentist for several years - being self-employed I pay the full amount and my last hygienist must have been a cranky schoolteacher previously - she berated me so much I avoided seeing any dental office. But my hygienist at Atlantis - Kelly - was such a pro. She was professional and so sweet, explained everything, never sprayed water on my face, and gave me great tips to improve my teeth. The TVs on the ceiling are a great distraction too. Julia, the office manager at reception, is phenomenal. I was laughing at her emails before I met her. And my invoice was LESS THAN my estimate! Everyone there makes a real effort to put you and ease and treat you with the greatest respect. Well done, AD Cambie!

The best place to go if you have any type of anxiety, fear, or phobia of the dentist. Before going I let the receptionist know that I am very scared and that whichever dentist I have should be aware of this. I unfortunately can’t remember any names of those who assisted me, but every single person was amazing. From the checkup, the assistant who took my X-rays and everything was great. She kept conversation with me the entire time and let me know what she was doing each step. If I got overwhelmed she would stop and let me breath. I've been a patient at Atlantis Dental for over 8 years. The only reason I will no longer be a patient is because I'm moving to a new city so I thought it was about time that I left my review! It's a wonderful practice with lovely staff and superb standard of care. I was someone who had MAJOR dental phobia as a result of previous traumatic experience. I credit Atlantis with helping me to overcome my phobia 1000%, they showed real care and understanding in their approach and would explain every action during treatment to ease any concerns. I no longer have any fear around receiving dental treatment

Had the most comprehensive dental exam I ever had. Dr. Jason Goldthorpe is very knowledgeable and professional. He took time to look and explain every detail and developed holistic treatment plan based on his findings, but also on my needs.

My teeth hadn’t seen a dentist in over 10 years when I first walked in over 8 years ago. I know, gross. A really bad tooth ache finally forced my hand and I chose this place as it was close to home. Best decision ever!! I was treated with kindness, and understanding. No judgement for years of neglect. My dentist, Jason, was (and is) so kind and addressed all my concerns and then some. This place is so great that there was no question that I would come back here when I moved back to the area. They were excellent 5 years ago, and are still excellent today. Very friendly and approachable staff. I have had bad experiences with dentists in the past and felt they put money ahead of their clients needs and did fillings that didn't need to be done yet and so on. I never feel that way here. They are looking out for us, and that is hard to find these days. Strongly recommend!

Dr. Karkanis is great! My husband and I got him as our dentist when we lived in Yaletown, and now we drive out from the suburbs to him because he's the best! No pain or discomfort with him for fillings and/or procedures and no extra costs and unnecessary treatments like what we have experienced with previous dentists. His fillings also last and according to his hygienist "are the best they've seen in [their] practice".
They're so nice and accommodating when we have to drag our kids along and are open weekends!

I won't recommend Cambie location as their staff Kally did not complete full teeth cleaning visit and kept saying that my teeth were dirty. She was killing her time just to bring me back again. I guess she is short on her $$$. I was shocked by her comments about other staff from same clinic like she was blaming her own team for a crappy service. Avoid the clinic and especially staff like her.

Julia, the office manager was the first contact I had with Atlantis. She is cheerful, incredibly helpful and such a great person.
I am a total baby when it comes to going to the dentist. The team was very understanding and kind.
Dr. Karkanis was very patient with all of my questions. He is super nice and thorough. I will be getting my first tooth extraction in a couple of days (for braces) and Dr. Karkanis clearly outlined what would happen and put my mind at ease.
A shout out to Kaitlyn as well for being super nice and making me feel comfortable.

I was in yesterday with my three kids for a cleaning. My younger kids are 8 years old. I was expecting either the hygienist or the dentist to come talk to me about my kids' teeth but that never happened.
The invoice that I was emailed later had me invoiced for 3 units of cleaning which is ridiculous since I know my teeth did not require that much care. Very interesting charge since I refused the fluoride and other extras and the hygienist agreed with me that I didn't need it.

Eek! I'm not sure about Canada laws about refusal of service but I just called and was refused service based on being disabled. Despite offering to pay the extra that wasn't covered and the fact they typically accept direct billing. Not cool.. No one should be made to feel exclusively discriminated upon for non-applicable health reasons. This ain't the 1800's.

I went this Dental Clinic about two weeks ago. All the stuff are nice and patient to my little boy. I talked about my son's cavity with one of the dentist. She explained about the surgery to me and answered all my questions nicely. I think probably I will go back again if I need to see the dentist for my kid or myself.

Dr. Karkanis and the staff at Atlantis Dental are AMAZING! I have been going here since I moved to Vancouver and I have never had a bad experience. I recently had an implant placed and I was terrified, Dr.Karkanis explained everything every step of the way and made me feel so much more comfortable. They also went above and beyond making sure the crown on my front tooth was the perfect colour and shape. They have truly transformed my smile! All the staff are super knowledgeable and they never try to sell you stuff you don't need. I will continue attending this clinic as long as I am living

I have been a patient here for over 2 years now and the staff have always been professional, courteous and helpful, especially when dealing with my on call work availability which can make it difficult to schedule. Although I have not had any dental work done except regular checkups and cleaning I would feel comfortable with them if I ever needed more work done.

This is a review to share the positive experience I had at the Atlantis Dental Centre. Doctor Taylor was beyond amazing. She was extremely patient and informative. I have learnt so much about the health of my teeth in one session. This is more than what I have learnt my whole life visiting different dentists. I have to say that the doctor added a great value and if all dentists followed her example, we would be having fewer people with teeth/health issues.
I had a bit of misunderstanding on my previous experience, and Jason at the reception remembered me and made sure to give me a clearer understanding

Hidden gem!! Front desk really friendly, helpful & personal, they even took the time to check what would be covered or not by my insurance. Every time I come back, they remember my name & every time I email them, I get an answer within 24h. Really great!

I've been going to my family dentist since I was 7 years old - given that he was in his early thirties when I became his patient, I've had the benefit of continuing to be his patient until now, 20 years later.
However, I decided I wanted to see a dentist closer to my current home and work, and found this office.
As a positive, the office is in a superb location. I found reception helpful in setting up appointments and working around insurance limits. And setting up appointments is not months away.

I had nearly my whole tooth (rear molar) fall out and while the receptionist was a bit of a barrier and unreceptive, I was able to push her into asking the dentist to see me. Let me preface. I tried to contact my FORMER dentist (Kassam) at YaleTown Dentistry who has an "emergency line" that they NEVER responded to nor picked up. Telling the receptionist this, I begged for an appointment. I went to Atlantis because of the yelp reviews. They did not meet my expectations. On the plus side, I found parking easy and the place was very shiny and professional looking. The front desk person was very friendly and personable, as was the dental hygienist/assistant.
However, there are three reasons I did not return:
1. I specifically asked to be booked with Karkanis as he's the most experienced and the one that gets the great reviews. But only after I was already seated did I learn I would see his associate, Dr. Shum. I'm looking for more respect than that. It also became apparent

I am so happy I switched dentists and now see Dr. Karkanis. He is friendly, gentle, and sensitive to my existing dental issues.
The office of Atlantis Dental has some incredible equipment, and I was really impressed by my initial visit(s) where they did a complete check-up and mapped out my teeth on the computer. I like that they have the screen positioned so you can see it while you're in the dentist chair. The hygienist answered all my questions and was patient with my immense curiousity as well as my irregular oral sensitivities.

I have been a patient of Atlantis dental for almost 2 years now and I have had nothing but a great experience. As others have mentioned the staff are very friendly but also competent and efficient, which is much appreciated. I always show up on time, and they are always ready for me, which means a lot to me (I detest waiting).
The office runs some of the latest technologies in dental computer programs and procedures, and I find the care they provide is better for it (no paper files with papers hanging out, and notes that never get followed up on).

I've had part of one of wisdom teeth broken off only a few days after I moved from Europe. Reception at the dental centre went ahead not only to schedule me for the same day I called them but to explain to me all the nitty gritty details about dental insurance in Canada. I've also received an e-mail confirming my appointment with all the information necessary for signing up. Nice touch.
