Tooth decay and other dental problems are less prevalent than ever before, thanks to improved awareness of proper home care, water fluoridation and effective preventative treatments. However, problems still do occur that require treatment. Thankfully, technology and methods are constantly improving, offering more effective, less invasive methods to keep your smile healthy.
Fillings that are custom made by a dental technician, that offer beauty and exceptional durability. Usually made from porcelain, but in some cases - of gold. The difference between inlays and onlays is the size of the filling. Small filling, covered by the tooth cusps, are called inlays. Large filling that also includes the chewing cusps are called outlays.
Professional dental cleanings (scaling, root planning and polishing) are done by Registered Dental Hygienists. Removal of calculus (tartar): Calculus is hardened plaque that has formed on the tooth and will be firmly attached. Calculus forms above and below the gum line, and can be removed with appropriate dental instruments.
A complete dental exam includes an examination of not only your teeth, but also other parts of your oral cavity. The teeth's surfaces are checked for decay, using special dental instruments, and existing restorations (fillings, crowns, veneers ) are checked for their condition. The dentist examines your gums and the bones around your teeth for any signs of gum disease.

As a trans person I always get a little anxious going into a new medical office. I was pleased to find that their intake form allowed me to state my gender identity. Dr. Fisher himself asked for my pronouns without any prompting and did his best to adhere to them, and apologized if he made a mistake. I felt comfortable around him and his team.

A minimalist, environmentally friendly, and cute dental office. Dr. Fisher is experienced and straight to the point. My previous dentists wanted to replace my cracked tooth with an implant. This would have cost me $3000-$5000, and this ordeal had stressed me out for over a year. Dr. Fisher took a look at my tooth and did not try to sell me on anything. He saved my tooth and it only cost me around $500 in total (with insurance coverage). Their dental team is friendly and easy going. Bonus: free 2 Hr parking available everywhere.

This man is a wizard! I've been going to him for quite some time now and its always very efficient, painless and a pleasant experience. Last year I brought my wife to him with a diagnosis from another dentist who wanted to remove a broken tooth and replace it with an implant, which was going to cost well over $5k. Dr. Fisher managed to save the tooth with a crown for a fraction of the cost and hassle. Highly recommend!

We have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Fisher. A pediatric dental clinic based out of Oakridge had prescribed surgery with general anesthesia for my 6 year old, to deal with three cavities and a basic tooth extraction. This would have cost over $4,000 (and at least $2500 out of my pocket). On my first visit with Dr. Fisher he easily dealt with two of the cavities in a way that was pain free for my son and 100% covered by my insurance. His opinion was that surgery wasn't necessary and actually put children at risk. He is clearly a kind and conscientious dentist with a great energy for children

Dr. Fisher and his staff are great! I came to Vancouver needing to finish my root canal treatment and had no dental insurance. I was really afraid of having to pay a lot of money due to my lack of insurance, however, Dr. Fisher listened to my concerns and realized the procedure by a very fair cost. Also, my husband had his wisdom teeth removed and Dr. Fisher did everything very well, making both of us very calm. My husband’s recovery was incredible fast and stress-free. I just finished my 7 month long invisalign treatment to move my crowded teeth, and the results are lovely! Ever since the first time we talked about the treatment, Dr. Fisher and his assistants behaviour was very professional and honest, and now that I've finished the treatment, I see the pure wonderfulness that came from that awesome treatment. During checkups, they would explain everything and ask about any problems and issues that I may have, and they helped me to understand how to sustain the results. I just adore this clinic and it's staff! 10/10 would recommend : )

Dr. Fisher and his staff are wonderful. I had my first appointment with him on October 2nd. I always am a little bit scared when I have to go to the dentist, but both Dr. Fisher and his assistant were very kind and thoughtful to me all the time. Good professionals are not only those who has the knowledge and the best technique, but which in addition treats their patients with kindness and care. And that was what I found at Shen Dental. I had such a great experience with Dr. Fisher and I highly recommend him.
