WARNING: If you're sensitive to sounds when you're trying to sleep, bring earplugs or do not book here. The walls are paper thin and you hear people going up and down the hallway as well as the people in the room next to you.
Other than that huge asterisk, the rooms are nice and the room service is good. It's ok.

I would recommend this hotel, its clean, comfortable and the staff are very helpful and polite. Unfortunately my experience was a little off on my second nights stay. I stayed Friday and Saturday nights. Friday was uneventful, quiet, a nice night, good sleep. However Saturday night was a gong show! It was busy and very noisy. People had loud music playing and there was a very upset woman in the hallway yelling obscenities. Also noticed quite a few people coming and going that were not obviously hotel guests. I do believe this is not the norm for this hotel but was not a good sleep on the Saturday

Made a reservation on Friday, August 6, through SnapTravel after contacting the hotel to confirm they accept cash deposits as stated on their website. Get to the hotel and they won't let me check in because I don't have a credit card for the deposit. Wasted $130 on a room that I paid for and couldn't get into because their employees either don't or straight up lie about their check-in policies. Called there right before I wrote this and again they state they accept cash deposits. Terrible customer service!!

Nice hotel in and old but new and renovated building. Staff was nice, check-in was covid safe, each room is inspected before guest use and the price was right. Got 30% off booking through one of those Google 3rd party web sites. The wifi was great and there was a router directly in our room as seen in the pictures. We were running a little late and called the front desk to ask if we could check-out an hour later and they were very accommodating.

Even though the hotel was established a long time ago, the rooms there were very clean, and definitely been renovated! The design of the bathroom seems very nice for it’s price.
Furthermore, they’ve been given an award or something for cleaning well in this hotel, which is important in this pandemic!
Would recommend staying there :)

I stayed here for a month when I first moved to Winnipeg, and I'm happy that I chose the Norwood. The staff is all very friendly and accommodating, no matter the time of day. The room was large and relatively modern. Internet was VERY fast and never lagged. Oh, and the location is close to everything. Lots of restaurants close by, as well as grocery stores and Shoppers Drug Mart. You can walk to The Forks, Parliament, Osborne Street etc. However, if you need a cab they are ALWAYS right out front at the cab stand. Oh, and the soaps and shampoo they have in the bathroom is amazing! It's from a local

Stayed three nights and thought the service and rooms were about what I expected. Average. The hotel is handy to many sites and restaurants. However, there was a fragrance in the room which first made my sinuses clog, then run, and by the last night I was sneezing constantly. Though of leaving but stuck it out. I wouldn't go back just for that reason.

I would say 3.7. Pretty decent value. Convenient restaurant and pub. Friendly staff. Recently refurbished. Close to St B with a med discount. Free parking. Real glass. But no pool. No mic and bev fridge is small. Seems to be a fragrance applied at times. Not fussy abt it. Will consider the Norwood when in the area.

We came here to hang out at the bar to watch a band play on a Friday night. The average age was about 47. The waitress was super friendly and every time I had to go use the restroom, the ladies in there were super talkative with me. We had the wings and they were decent. The band was and 80's rock band cover and they were really good.

Lucky for me, I had to be in St. Boniface for business. It was lucky because the Norwood is a great hotel, and feels like a bit of a secret.
The front desk was speedy, the service was friendly, Wi-Fi was free, the room was fresh and cozy, and the walking distance to great restaurants and views of Winnipeg can't be beat. Bathroom amenities, like the shampoo and lotion, come from a little spot across the street, which is both a sweet local business connection and handy if you want to take lots of the stuff home.

Reason for stars: I can't give it more than a 3 because the room reminds me of my dorm in College. The wall behind the bed is cement blocks. The bathroom is tiled like a dorm. The finishings are just average. The overall decor is average at best. Considering I am staying here on business I think it is fine (free parking and free wifi). I don't think I would bring my family though.
Rooms: Fair. They are relatively clean although it smells a bit like a warehouse.
Location: Close to downtown and very close to many eateries down the street..
Value: Fair
