The caption above is certainly true, as the parkland style course opens itself up to golfers with our varying vistas but very limited change in elevation. This is a tribute to an extraordinary man but also to a very walkable and playable course at any time of the year. A wonderful example of parklands golf, Uplands provides an enjoyable and challenging experience for all levels of play.

Services
Uplands is a non-smoking facility. Please note that CRD Bylaws do not allow smoking (including e-cigarettes) within 3 meters of any doorway, or window, on patios, or in the area surrounding the Snack Bar window. Non-members, golfers and reciprocal players may use the Clubhouse facilities after the payment of the required green fee on the day the green fee is paid.
A round of golf at Uplands is a walk into history. Established in 1922 by members of the United Services Club who began golfing on rough land at Macaulay Point near the original Work Point barracks in Esquimalt in the early 1880's, the Uplands course was carved through meadows, iconic Garry Oak trees and long-established firs and cedars.
Uplands Golf Club is one of only four private golf clubs in the Capital Region situated on 120 scenic acres adjacent to the University of Victoria. Just 10 minutes from downtown Victoria, it is also readily accessible from all other areas of Greater Victoria. With gentle fairway undulations and no steep hills or valleys to navigate, this is a course that lends itself to walking and an 18-hole game is often played in 4 hours or less.
Head Professional, Ian Stone, along with his dedicated and talented pro shop staff take great pride in consistently delivering the ultimate golf service experience for Uplands members and guests, from re-gripping to loft/lie adjustments, we do it all. Ian Stone Golf Shop Ltd. carries a full range of the latest in golf equipment, apparel, shoes and accessories at competitive prices.
Start your day off with a challenge! A drive hit down the center of this densely tree lined fairway will avoid the fairway bunkers on the left and right. The first green introduces you to the typical Uplands putting surface, very large with subtle breaks. Three large bunkers guard this green, and a back right pin position will yield few birdie chances.

Location could be better, it's surrounded by roads that you can hear most of the time .It's alot like a large scale mini golf course but less eventful ,not much to the dynamics making it plain. Brian Youell has to much spraying going on so there are sometimes an odor both fertilizer and chemical like, not to mention his verbal conduct when he thinks you would be someone taken to his perverse observations of the females about, displayed in grotesque physical motion... quite vulgar and as a result disappointing

I helped a friend who grew up across the street Walter Furlongs son Andrew when he sold his parents estate. Ill never forget Douglas Baker showing me how many golf balls Valentine Furlongs hedges held lol. My… Uncle Hubert lived off landsdowne when i grew up and ill never forget when there picture window got smashed out. But my best memory is when my uncle Harry Smith Les Smiths son came home with a hole in one story im pretty sure he nailed a few rip harry cheers all.

I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to returning to Victoria and rejoining Uplands, the club where golf started for me as a junior member long ago. I am choosing Uplands to join as the course is so walkable, beautifully maintained and fun to play. I have noticed that the trees have gotten quite a bit taller then when I left though.
