Vancouver Island Counselling is an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). This benefit program provides employees, eligible family members and retirees of member organizations with confidential and professional help in addressing personal concerns. We provide direct access to trained counsellors who address work and life issues that affect employees' emotional and psychological well-being.

Services
Many employees struggle to balance the increasingly complex demands of work and personal lives. In fact in any given year, 15-20% of a workforce experiences personal problems around various issues. If left unresolved, these everyday problems may lead to diminished personal well-being and compromised job performance.
What is an EFAP? Vancouver Island Counselling is your EFAP (Employee and Family Assistance Program) and is a very important component of your employee benefit package. Your EFAP encourages people with personal concerns to seek confidential counselling help as soon as possible before issues seriously affect family and work life and individual health and safety.
In his review of the benefits of EFAP programs, Richard Csiernik describes an organization's employees as its single greatest asset. He adds that protecting the health of that asset is good for employees, good for families and good for business (please see the above noted references below). Csiernik goes on to say that troubled employees are less productive and less efficient.
