The San Romanoway Revitalization Association (SRRA), located on the North-East quadrant of Jane and Finch, is a not-for-profit social services organization founded on the premise of Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) and Crime Prevention through Social Development (CPTSD). In 1999, building ownership and management met with law enforcers, residents, local businesses, community organizations, and community leaders to discuss the escalation of crime and vandalism to property in the neighborhood.
Services
SRRA's primary focus is to support children's overall development within their cognitive, social-emotional and physical skills through our qualified staff. We encourage healthy living, safety and nutritious meals to help foster the well-being of the children in the program. We serve breakfast in the morning and prepare lunch for children to bring to school who do not have a lunch.
Similar to our programming for the younger children, The San Romanoway Boys and Girls Program supports local Jane and Finch community families by providing a safe, professionally supervised and structured breakfast and afterschool program for children ages 9 to 12. Providing a structured and safe program for this youth this age, with an emphasis on education and positive social growth, is immensely important for this community.
We would like to welcome all families from Jane and Finch and the wider community to our Annual March break and Summer Day Camps at San Romanoway Revitalization Association. Our camps focus on social, recreational, cultural and educational activities. We also provide weekly trips to venue within the GTA and workshops.
Twice weekly, local seniors meet over lunchtime in a program they call the "Sunshine Group." This program provides an important social network for the seniors who might otherwise find themselves inactive and isolated. Founded with the understanding of the health benefits of social participation, the program strives to keep the seniors active and healthy, both mentally and physically.
