About Us Report

The Anicare Veterinary Hospital is located in rural Central Saanich. Established in 1991 with the conversion of the existing farm house into a fully functioning small animal hospital. Scottish Veterinarian Dr. Jonathan Smith purchased the practice in 1999. Dr. Jonathan Smith owns and operates the Anicare Veterinary Hospital.

Late Appointments: Because of our full schedule, we are generally not able to see patients that arrive late for an appointment. If you are late for your appointment and we have to reschedule it for another day, you will be charged a missed appointment fee. Missed Appointments: If you need to reschedule or change an appointment, please provide us with at least 24 hours notice.

STREET DRUGS: Due to the alarming increase in incidents of accidental exposure to recreational drugs, we strongly recommend to our clients the use of either a basket muzzle or an Outfox field guard on their dogs if free roaming in public parks or areas. We advise particular caution when visiting the downtown core areas.

We recently brought our Pomeranian puppy to this clinic with a complex issue. We were lucky that Dr Quinlan was on that day. She very carefully went through the issues and ultimately diagnosed a trachea issue. She was so thorough and caring.
She spent a lot of time discussing the issue with us in a very comforting manner. We are lucky to have a bright young vet like Dr. Quinlan in Victoria

Drove from Departure Bay where I live 2 hrs each way in nasty traffic because this Vet Dr. Smith and now Dr. Quinlan r 10 stars 4 so many reasons. He gave my last dog Clancy 2 more yrs of life without nasty drugs. Shades of the English vet in the series All Creatures Great and Small.

Anicare is the best vet we've ever taken our dog to. We have always felt that vets are out there to make money rather than care for your pet, Anicare is not like this!
They are honest, fair and caring. Dr. Smith's care has consistently gone above and beyond.

Dr. Smith has helped my family with generations of dogs and their accompanying ailments. He's great at handling our dogs and has successfully diagnosed and treated several bizarre issues over the years. I can't recommend this clinic highly enough.
