A comprehensive eye examination is a foundation for most visits to an Optometrist. It not only ensures that patients are seeing their best, but that their eye health is being monitored too. Dr. Jaffray enjoys seeing patients of all ages, whether they are new to Focused or returning. Our convenient location and parking make comprehensive examinations accessible to everyone.
Being a mom of 2 young boys herself, Dr. Jaffray knows about the joys and challenges of having children. Focused Optometry is a family-friendly office. Dr. Jaffray and the Focused Team are ready to help with vision needs, and patients of all ages are welcome! Children may not even know they are having difficulty because they may have no frame of reference as to what clear vision looks like.
Dr. Jaffray moved to Calgary in 2003 and started Focused Optometry in 2009. Her current location in Northland Plaza opened in 2015. From there, Dr. Jaffray offers a wide range of vision and eye health services for all ages. Eyes have been her passion since her early teenage years! Don't ask how long ago that was!
Do you have red, sore, or itchy eyes? Do you have a health condition that affects your eyes or medications that have ocular side effects? In 2007 Alberta Health Care began covering eye health examinations for patients of all ages.
Any eye health concern including, but not limited to: red eyes, eye infections, sore or itchy eyes, allergies, minor ocular injuries, retinal health exams for diabetes, hypertension, flashes & floaters, medication toxicity monitoring for many systemic diseases.A referral from a physician is NOT required for these visits.

Dr Jaffray is an excellent optometrist. She took the time to educate me about all of my options for eye lenses prior to my cataract surgery. My Opthalmologist’s office had not given me all those details. Dr Jaffray has also diagnosed other eye issues for me and prescribed appropriate glass lenses. Her staff are friendly and efficient. I highly recommend her!

I am so thankful I've been referred to Dr. Jaffray after having a corneal transplant surgery done on both eyes. My vision was only 20/450 in my right eye and Dr. Jaffray recommended a Scleral contact lens. Being a person that never wore contact lenses before, I obviously had lots of questions. Dr. Jaffray is not only an excellent optometrist but an amazing educator too. She gave me a thorough explanation of not only how the Scleral lens will improve my vision but also trained me how to place it in & out of my eye and how to take care of it. My journey with Dr. Jaffray started with an eye exam for entrance to the police. After her examination she politely told me, "You are no where close to meeting the requirements, Zach." Despite this let down she went on to explain all of my options thoroughly and simply.
Having decided to go with corrective vision surgery she stayed with me throughout the process and saw me every three months to make sure that everything was going well, I was healing correctly, and addressed any and all concerns that I had (some quite eye rollingly minor).
Now, one and a half years later we redid my police exam

Dr.Jaffray is the best. I appreciate how detail oriented and professional she is. She is well-educated and takes very good care of her clients. The staff are always very diligent and helpful and I leave happy every visit. They have an amazing selection of frames and are always available to help. The atmosphere is very comfortable and I’m always greeted with a smile. I will be continuing to refer friends and family to her.

Dr. Jaffray and her team are kind, professional and very knowledgeable. I was very impressed at how well she related to my kids and how thorough and fun her eye exams were and how they were tailored to their different developmental levels. When it came time for us to pick glasses, again the experience was fun and they were so patient. They were happy to work with my budget and helped my kids find glasses they love that work for them now and as they grow. I would highly recommend their services to anyone and have already recommended them to friends.
