Staff were very welcoming! Lori was our consultant and she was able to pull dresses that I was excited to try. Although there were not many within my budget, the dresses we did find were easily customized allowing me to feel like I had my own unique gown. They gave me a price for alterations right away. We celebrated with champagne and chocolate. Such a fun shopping experience!

Had an incredibly disappointing experience recently looking at dresses with a bride-to-be at Ethos. At entry, nobody wanted to take our bride's appointment (maybe staff shortage?) and during the appointment the consultant didn't even assist the bride-to-be with taking on and off dresses and disappeared for 30 minutes in the middle of the appointment leaving her bridesmaid and I to walk through the store pulling potential dresses for her. Found a gown at Ethos I liked. I went to another bridal store who had the same dress by the same designer and it was $400 cheaper. Ethos jacks up the price. They also couldn't do measurements on the same day. I found it inconvenient. Make sure you do your research before you buy your gown ladies! :)

I was excited to try on wedding dresses with my bridesmaids after travelling from Edmonton to Calgary to visit this store. HOWEVER, I don’t think I have ever ever felt so upset and disappointed after leaving a store in my life. I am just above average size and I was taken exclusively to the plus size section without any care for what I wanted and told to pick what I like out of about 14 plus size dresses (apparently most dresses on the floor are size 6-8). I went to Ethos to shop for my wedding dress with my mom. We were welcomed in and I was allowed to look around at a variety of dresses. I'm plus sized and I felt that the selection that they carried to try on was very reasonable. My consultant was run off her feet (it was the day after restrictions changed and she was continually fielding phone calls) but she worked super hard to help me find a dress, even going so far as to take one off the mannequin for me when I expressed interest in it. Unfortunately, I didn't find a dress that I loved here, but I truly appreciated the service that I received

I had to give one star just to let me comment! First I was so happy when I found the dress that I want for my wedding. I had to add the sleeves for $300 which is too expensive but I had to do because I need it. The dress was looking amazing with hoop (underskirt petticoats) so I had to rent it and payed $75. I asked her one week before the wedding day if I can take it with me but she said no because she had a customer she will take it. Yesterday I visited Ethos with my daughter to purchase her wedding dress along with my other daughter and her future sisters-in-law and niece. We had a lovely experience with Mary Teresa. She listened to what my daughter‘s vision was, our budget, and her wishes in regards to must-haves in a dress. Mary T made an instant bond with us by her genuine warmth, and desire to find the right dress. It was a very pleasant experience and I’m happy to say my daughter found her perfect dress. After having a nightmarish experience at two other Bridal Boutiques I was genuinely having anxiety walking into my appointment.
That was immediately taken away from the moment I stepped into the store.
I was warmly greeted by both my bridal consultant Victoria, the other attendants in the salon and both of the women doing my alterations.
Not only did I feel heard, they all made me feel beautiful. The experience made it beyond easy to say "yes to the dress!".
My favourite part was ringing the bell and celebrating with a glass of champagne. I cannot wait to get married looking

I've been reading the reviews and I feel that some people are impossible to please. Yes Ethos has a large assortment of dresses and it is a smaller place but how is that a problem? I'm glad I was in an intimate location with a huge assortment of dresses to choose from. Jane was helping me and I was probably a more difficult shopper as I had no clue what I wanted. Jane was wonderful, has a great sense of humour and ended up helping me find my dream dress.

Besides all the normal stuff to review, I just wanted to say when I went looking for my wedding dress the biggest reason I had a good experience was because of the ladies. Not only did my consultant let me take some time to breastfeed my baby, but when I was trying on "the one" they all made me feel absolutely beautiful. No establishment is with out flaw, but keep in mind people don't usually take time to write good reviews, just bad ones!

I went here to check out some wedding dresses with my sister/maid of honour, and had a very good experience :) Price-wise, I'd say the dresses ranged from average to expensive (about $1000-3000). They had a fairly sizeable selection, and I actually found 2 of my favourite dresses so far here :) The lady helping me was very accommodating in terms of trying to get dresses that were not my size to fit me so I could see what they looked like :P I was also offered a nice discount on one dress, and she gave me lots of advice on alterations & such, and was just very friendly and helpful in general

This was the first place I made an appointment with to try on wedding dresses. The consultant took the necessary information upon my arrival (ceremony and reception location, style in mind, etc.) and found me a selection of dresses to try on based on my answers. In terms of customer service, I would give Ethos no stars, perhaps even -10. Back when I was newly engaged, I was also fairly new to Calgary and Ethos was the only bridal shop I knew of, living a few blocks away. It seemed perfect. It wasn't.

I wouldn't purchase something here if I had the choice. If I get married, or need a formal gown for something, Ethos will not be on the list of places I'll be going. Ever.
