My fiancée and I had gone to a few jewelry shops in the city to find him a wedding band and just weren’t happy with the options that were pre-made in stores. I had always walked past Ian’s shop in his old downtown Calgary location and admired his craftsmanship through the windows but had no reason then to be buying beautiful jewelry.

I cannot recommend Davidson Jewels highly enough. We were in a real bind this weekend after getting a ring back incorrectly sized, before heading out of town on Monday for our wedding. Ian jumped in and had my ring resized and polished up so quickly. I couldn't be happier with the friendly, helpful, and efficient service Ian provided. I truly cannot thank you enough! We're starting our life together and I have a hunch we will be back to visit when we are due to mark future special occasions together. Thank you again so much.

Ian was highly recommended by someone who has bought few of his pieces before. I was extremely impressed from the moment I walked in, Ian was absolutely lovely to talk to and work with. He even stayed open late to talk with me about the ring, my ideas and how we could incorporate my girlfriend's (now my fiancé) personality into the ring. His work is exceptional. My fiancé and everyone who's seen the rings he made for me have all commented on its beauty and craftsmanship. Truly ecstatic. I will be going to Ian for all of my jewelry in the future.

We have had jewelry made by Davidson Jewels since 1999. Engagement, wedding, 10 year anniversary ring and the latest addition a family ring. I love them all. I still get tonnes of complements on my rings 20+ years later. My husbands wedding band is the best I have every seen. Ian's designs are classic, timeless pieces that stand the test of time. Already dreaming about that 25th anniversary ring. I think there is room for one more.

I have had Ian Davidson sell me four rings in addition to repairing one, and refurbishing another.
In all those contacts he's been true to his word (meeting a really tough deadline finding a new ruby for an engagement ring that lost it, and then setting it much stronger so it wouldn't fall out again), and exchanging another ring I was giving as a gift but wasn't sure about whether it was in the ballpark for style.
He's the only Canadian reseller with Niessing (my fiancee's favourite), and he builds super-cool custom pieces. And he's super calm, kind, personable and knowledgeable.

We got referred to Ian by the ladies at Rubaiyat when we were originally looking for a wedding band for my husband. We went in there and Ian was soooo great at explaining all the options, in terms of width, colour, texture, material etc., which was just so helpful because we hadn't experienced this yet and my husband was still pretty clueless about what he wanted and what the options even were!

My husband took a picture to Ian Davidson, who was the Principal Founder at Hunter Davidson, and who is now carrying on his work at Davidson & Co in Calgary. to have a pair of earrings replicated for me. The color of the stone was a light pink. We received a red stone. When my husband picked them up he was told if they weren't to my liking he would make it right. As the stones were not the color requested as shown in the picture and had a chip in one of them I wanted the stones replaced. Ian Davidson would not return my husbands emails or phone calls. I am stuck with expensive earrings
