Keep your eyes healthy with regular eye exams. We recommend that you have a comprehensive eye exam every one to two years, depending on your age, risk factors and whether you currently wear eyeglasses or contact lenses. Always bring your most recent glasses as well as what you're currently wearing (in case it's different).
Dry eyes are due to the eyes producing an inadequate amount of tears and/or tears of poor quality. Typically, it's actually a combination of both. These glands are responsible for producing the oily part of the tears (meibum) which helps to slow down tear evaporation. The aqueous layer is mostly water but also contains proteins, minerals and carbohydrates to help nourish the cornea.
Contact lenses are a great way to gain freedom from glasses and suitable for most eyes! There are many options available ranging from occasional wear all the way to full-time wear. Since a contact lens prescription is based off a glasses prescription, a valid glasses prescription is required. Service was good and the doctor and staff were nice.
But they forgot to stamp the eye exam form for my L driver’s license and didn’t provide me a receipt cause they had a issue with their machine (told me to email but didn’t) so I waited at ICBC to submit the form and had to come back to the store to get the stamp, went back to ICBC and waited again.
It was such a frustrating day, I wish they didn’t forget to stamp the form so I didn’t have to waste $$ on the road and my time.
If you are going there for your eye exam for your vision test, make sure you got their stamp so you won’t

I had to leave this review for Dr Jassal and staff because they are an incredibly professional and friendly team. I went for an eye check-up, and everything went smoothly and thoroughly. Even though I had so many questions about all sorts of things, Dr Jassal and staff answered them with patience and care. I can’t even explain in words how satisfied I am of their care! I’m so glad that Nanaimo finally has young and talented doctors/staff who are professional and full of energy.

This team is incredible! My glasses came in super quick and the Dr Panesar added a boost to my lenses that I didn’t even think I ever needed but it has helped so much with how much I read. I had some secondary issues going on with my eyes and Dr Panesar and the whole team pushed and were in constant contact to make sure that I was seeing specialists to help get to the bottom of it. They did not need to do it but they cared about patient care and did not stop until they found out what was wrong. It is so rare to find doctors like that, and I’m so grateful and cannot recommend them enough.

Amazing staff, they are so helpful when selecting frames. The clinic is beautiful and very clean. Dr.Jassal is a very kind and patient practitioner, and explains everything thoroughly. I was very content with the healthcare service I received. Dr.Jassal was able to help treat my chelazion, which was such a relief. He has been very helpful with my dry eye treatment plan and I am seeing great results. Highly recommend Eye Plus!

Dr Jassal, Morgan & Cindy are phenomenal. They were on time with appointments. My wait time was less than 2 minutes. All 3 practitioners were professional, approachable & incredibly informative. They were also able to get my lenses in 12 days earlier than anticipated. I definitely had a fantastic optometry experience here. I couldn't be more impressed.

Very disappointing. I left with a full blown panic attack after being refused my mask exemption. I was not told when I called that I needed a doctor's note and according to Dr. Henry's guidelines, no note need even be presented. it is not anyone's business why I cannot wear a mask and quoting the BC CDC site: "People who cannot wear a mask or who cannot put on or remove a mask on their own are exempt. Some people cannot wear a mask for psychological, behavioural or health conditions. Some people may also need to remove their masks to communicate due to a hearing impairment

Hands down the best experience at an optometrist. After suffering with some eye problems in silence for years, Dr. Gary quickly identified what my issues were and promptly put me on a treatment plan. I really appreciated the fact that he didn't pressure or "shame" me for choosing to wear eyelash extensions, even though it was against his recommendation. He understood they cost alot and respected my wishes to not use oil based products with them as to not break down the glue. He ended up working around my wishes and waited until I decided I was done with them to proceed with some other treatments

The service is amazing. I just dropped in to have my glasses adjusted with Ashley and even though she was busy she was happy to helped. My whole family sees the optometrists here and we love their care and attention to detail with every visit. The whole staff is very competent. I was referred to Eye Plus by my ophthalmologist during covid and needing eye glasses due to a medical emergency. Both doctors saw me and were most amazing.
They were flexible with my appointment time and making sure I got in at a time that worked for me - they were both there during my appointment in full PPE and had PPE for me. I can rave enough about Eye Plus' impeccable customer service. I had my first eye exam there a few days ago and it was by far better and more thorough than any other eye exam I have ever had. From the second I called to make an appointment (with the most engaging Ashley) this experience was a dream . I came in with what could have been edging on a serious upcoming issue which Vik, my doctor considered very carefully as we proceeded through the process. From explanation to result I was totally at ease, understood my options and the possible outcomes, costs and his opinion. Then, Vik even suggested getting in to see the retinol specialist in the office upstairs (one of only 4 on Vancouver Island) and once he got my ok, he bolted upstairs to speak

Dr. Jassal is very good at prescribing and got me into contact lenses again after I had been told I couldn’t wear them anymore. He also did my husband’s prescription with a hand held device because he has difficulty with the usual method. His assistant , Ashley is most helpful and pleasant. A very good experience.
