Dr. Petreman was born in Nanaimo and raised in Nanaimo and Kamloops. Dr. Petreman completed his Doctorate in Optometry from Pacific University - Oregon in 2007. Dr. Petreman enjoys being outdoors, spending time with his wife Janelle on the farm with their horses. Dr. Henderson is a Calgary native who completed her Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University in Oregon.
After falling in love with the west coast, she decided to move to Vancouver Island in 2015 where she began her career. She is passionate about eye care and enjoys the challenge of providing solutions to each patient's unique visual needs. When she is not taking care of eyes, you will find her out running, hiking, and spending time with her family and beautiful malamute, Callie.

My family and I have been using Dr. Henderson as our optometrist for a couple of years now, and we couldn't be happier with our services. My wife and I never used optometrists growing up, but now being in our mid 30's we realized we needed to find one. She was knowledgeable, very personable, and easy to get along with and down to earth. We were even more impressed with how she conducted our young children's eye exams, as neither of them really cared for the idea. It made it an enjoyable 1st experience for them, and there is no fear of going back for their annual exams now.

Have been a client of Origin Optometry for a long time. With my first visit to Dr. Petreman , I was very impressed as he identified a problem with my eyes caused by the fit of my contact lens. At the time I was also seeing an eye specialist and this was not caught. Will give Origin Optometry five stars with no hesitation. Dr. Petreman is very professional and knowledgeable and most imperative is my trust in him. Staff always friendly and efficient.

Dr. Amber Henderson is wonderful. She not only gave me the most thorough eye exam I've ever had, she also took the time to explain her findings in a warm and comfortable way. The clinic is well set up, the staff are knowledgable and helpful, and the selection of possible frames is wide. I highly recommend Dr. Henderson and Origin Optometry!

I had never worn contacts in my life, but at 60 years old I was tired of being a slave to my ‘readers’ and motivated to try multi-focal contact lenses. I was, however, worried about adjusting to them. But following a state-of-the-art eye exam with Dr. Petreman, the front-end team patiently helped me master the process of inserting and removing the lenses. Now I can miraculously read the tiniest font on my phone. No more ransacking the house in search of glasses — I feel ten years younger!

I really appreciate the attention to detail which starts with the aesthetic of the storefront, with sliding mirrors revealing other frames; that along with the additional selection of frames in drawers all along the displayed frames made the experience of really seeing the features of each frame much more pleasant.
The flow of my appointment with Dr. Petreman was also great and felt very thorough, in fact Origin Optometry was suggested to me by a colleague who was impressed with her eye exam, stating that it was the most thorough she had ever had.
