We found out we were moving and neighbours recommended Small Moves Vancouver. As this was the first time we were hiring movers, we were nervous but from our inquiry, to the quote and moving day, it was amazing! Don't know if it was new employees or what but we just moved this past weekend and the guys literally dragged every piece of furniture down 3 flights of stairs hitting every one on the way down and breaking my dressers. They didn't even have carrying straps. I watched them drag my custom made mattress worth over 2grand over 10ft on the concrete in my back alley ripping the plastic protector, the sheet AND the protector beneath that. Two guys. Extremely slow. Suddenly they speed up, probably more than twice, once I started going with them to the truck and back. Also very clumsy. They made a scratch on almost every furniture I have. They even broke some legs on some furniture. They were constantly bumping into a glass wall next to my building entrance. Luckily they didn't break the glass. Also, I asked some duck tape and some plastic wrap, they didn't have any of that. Moving company doesn't have those stuff?! Very unprofessional. I sent an inquiry email and received a response very quickly. In no time, we had booked a schedule for our move. The guys were super professional. They were also very friendly and even though we ran into some problems of our own (no fault of theirs), they were super helpful in assisting us find some resolution even though they did not have to. Super great guys! Would recommend 100%.

From the website inquiry to phone booking and moving day, everything was great. They gave clear details upon reservation and initiated follow up before moving which put my mind at ease. Both reception & the movers were professional & easy to work with. Since it was pouring the guys even wrapped everything up to protect it. This was our second move with Small Moves (the first being about three years ago).
Anass and Nas moved us this time. They were everything we could have asked for: punctual (literally on the doorstep to the minute), effective, kind, good-natured and hardworking. They wrapped up all our stuff with plastic to keep it safe. They managed to get our too-big couch through our too-small door problem with a door and had all the necessary tools on-hand. On the arrival end, they put everything exactly where I'd labelled it to go and checked in with the ones I failed to label. Really cannot say enough nice

We used Small Moves Vancouver yesterday to move items from 3 locations to a new apartment. The team was wonderful. They confirmed ahead of the date, arrived on time, were professional and everything was moved with care and without damage. They were courteous to our neighbours and respected the building rules. They moved my stuff, they were quick and gentle, and the crew I got was both professional and good natured.
The move was ~2 bedrooms worth of heavy stuff (I have too many books and board games!!!), From Vancouver to the suburbs, and I used a third mover as recommended, and finished within 5 hours.
They charge hourly - not flat rate - so be ready with everything packed for best value. There's no hidden or surprise fees; the only additional cost is travel time and they are very up-front about the details at booking time.

Fantastic service I have never had such a good experience with a moving company. They had put me on a waitlist and a truck became available so they surprisingly followed up with me. A different company said that they would call me back in 20 minutes and I had to follow up the next day and then had no idea who I was.
Small Moves arrived right on time at 9:00am and were stellar at their job. They were always a step ahead from what I expected in terms of loading and unloading. They were friendly, considerate and responsible throughout the process.
Now I know who to call for any future moves!

I hired Small moves twice in the past 1 year.
Both times are very good experience (moving part).
The movers themselves are relatively fast.
Especially the first time, I think one of the movers' name is Yusuf? (Sorry I may spell incorrectly), super efficient and very smart about how to move/ stack things.
The second time is slower but still very fast. I think one of the movers had a foot injury, and had to walk slowly, but he still worked pretty well.
Compared to the movers, their back-office though, can be a pain, Brenda (I think that's her name) simply didn't want me to talk

I hired small moves to help with my move today and I regret hiring them. This one guy was soo unbelievably rude. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional and horrible horrible moving company. He immediately started giving me attitude right when he came into my place, he was treating my stuff like it was junk and handling it poorly. My furniture is expensive... I asked him and gave him instructions to please wrap my furniture up in the plastic and make sure it's all covered so it doesn't get dirty or scuffed and he was so lazy and did the bare minimum. Everything is dirty and ruined

These guys were fantastic from the customer service over the phone to the fantastic service the movers provided. They moved me out of my old building and into my new within a couple hours and put my furniture together, they were very polite and professional and the price was fantastic. If I could give the 6 stars I would.

I moved from New Westminster to Victoria this past weekend, and I can't say enough about the Small Moves team that helped me do so! Brenda on the phone was super helpful and detailed with setting up my 2-day move. And on the moving days, Anees and Azzam were absolutely fantastic. They made sure to keep the truck in a safe spot that didn't block traffic, and they took great care with my things, including the fragile boxes and disassembled furniture. I'm really disappointed with this company. The movers were supposed to be here first thing Saturday. They arrived hours late. They had very bad body odour. They saw that I was only moving 20 boxes, not my entire apartment and they said the job was too small for them and they drove away.

I called Small Moves with less than a weeks notice, and the office happily accommodated my request to unload my truck (which was to loaded by another company in another city) into my apartment in Vancouver.
Excellent communication in the days leading up to the move, including a phone call the morning of to confirm details. This was very reassuring and brought me peace of mind that I was going to be taken care of during this stressful time.
Movers arrived on time and immediately started hauling my stuff inside. The two men worked efficiently and carefully to unload the truck in just over 1 hour

I used Small Moves Vancouver when I moved from the West End to Main Street at the end of May + was so impressed with the service. Sayeed and Arturo were fast + efficient + beyond helpful. They even helped me disassemble my bed for the move + then put it back together for me in my new place! And on top of that, they were really nice which is a plus when you're dealing with the stress of moving. I would highly recommend Small Moves to anyone!
