There is nothing more satisfying than seeing how the work we do transforms people. When members show up & give it their all, it enhances their body, their mind, their health, their relationships, their work & everything in between. It's fun just being a part of that. In 2006 Christi and I bought a personal training studio in south Florida.

We left Calgary bright eyed and bushy tailed. We were fortunate enough to work with some of the NHLs finest including the Florida Panthers, a few Olympic athletes, an LPGA tour pro and the world's best wakeboarder. Although the high-profile athletes were great, we were really fortunate to have developed strong relationships with regular Joes, desk jockeys and stay-at-home moms.

Our Kids & Teens program is based on the principle of Fun, Mechanics, Consistency and then Intensity. The Kids Fit program emphasizes good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good mechanics translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance and fewer sports injuries for kids.
Whether you're an athlete training for an upcoming competition, a parent trying to set a healthy example for your children, or a working professional trying to live your best life, your nutrition program should be individualized to you. At Barracks Nutrition, we work directly with you, one-on-one, to create a program that fits your needs, schedule and lifestyle.
The 'snatch' and 'clean and jerk' bring speed, power, coordination, agility, accuracy and balance to training and are indispensable to athletic development. If you want to be a well-rounded athlete, you can't leave these out. This small-group, 1X/wk, 6-week-long program will have you focusing on proper technique, proper position and will help you build a solid foundation for Olympic Weightlifting.
True; it's hard and it's worth it. No matter your fitness level, we meet you where you are and guide you along the way to your goals. Fitness, for every body. No matter your existing fitness level, our extremely friendly and knowledgable coaches will work with you to make sure each workout is challenge and accessible.
Schedule a free one-on-one 1 hour session with one of our coaches - this will give you a chance to check out the box, try a workout and see if it's right for you. For your safety, we encourage you to participate in our Foundations Program to get a better understanding of the technical movements involved in our workouts.

This is an incredible gym. The workouts are fantastic, the people are great, and the coaching is spectacular. I joined this gym with no experience and I immediately felt welcomed by everyone and my fitness has improved rapidly. I always look forward to going and would recommend this gym to anyone!

Joined this CFCB in 2016 after researching a few other gyms and really liked the credentials the Barbers and other coaches experience. 4 years later, I can say this place is absolutely phenomenal!!! I've done things I never imagined in a gym like handstand pushups, pull-ups or running 5km. This is all due to great coaching and programming from the Barbers and the entire coaching staff!! The amount of events that CFCB puts on - Battle, Affiliate challenges, Intramural open is amazing, the community here is amazing, the friends I have made are amazing.. 10/10 recommend to everyone. Including dogs

I’ve been a member here for 8 years and they just keep getting better and better! While travelling I have dropped in on many CrossFit gyms over the years and I always come to the same conclusion - Barracks Fitness is the best gym I’ve ever been to. Give this gym a shot! The workouts are fun, the atmosphere is encouraging, you'll be supported through your progress, it's squeaky clean, and the coaches are always making sure you're safe and moving correctly. Eric and Christi are awesome people, as well, and work to make a positive impact in their community. And for those that would like to hone their skills, compete, or just want to carry more bags of groceries in at one time, there's extra programming to get you there.

This is not a standard Crossfit gym! I've been to gyms all over the world and honestly the community, programming, quality of coaching and flexibility shown during headwinds (insert COVID) is hands down the best I've seen. Eric and Christie genuinely appreciate every member. If you're willing to put in the work BF offer competition programming. If you've at the other end of the spectrum and want to just turn up, catch up on the goss and get your sweat on the classes cater for this as well.

When I left my Vancouver CrossFit gym, I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy CrossFit as much being away from my home gym. I was so so so wrong. It took no time at all for me to feel like I was part of their community, and I ended up realizing that Barracks had everything I needed plus more. I can vividly remember my first day, being welcomed by everyone and seeing many friendly faces. You can see the heart and soul that Eric and Christi put into the gym, including selecting coaches that genuinely care about the athletes, top of the line programming, and having the best equipment and a clean gym

Barracks Fitness (Crossfit Currie Barracks) is an excellent facility for anyone looking for a new gym! I’m not a member here as it’s a little far from home, but have attended a few competitions held at this location. I’ve seen Christi and Eric in action during comps with SEVERAL people in their building. They operate a clean, well equipped, efficient gym. I’ve met a few members of their community and they made me feel welcomed and like one of their own. I’d highly recommend Barracks Fitness to anyone!
