A comprehensive eye exam not only tests your eyeglass prescription but also tests for a variety of common ocular health conditions and disease. Conditions such as cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration are just a few that can only be detected only through a comprehensive eye examination.
Advances in contact lens technology have made them much healthier to wear. Newer silicone-hydrogel materials allow more oxygen through the lens, allowing your eyes to breathe. This reduces signs of corneal hypoxia. 1-DAY DISPOSABLE LENSES reduce eye infections as compared to reusable lenses. New contact lens wearers first get a comprehensive eye exam.
Diabetes can affect various organs in your body, including your eyes. Fluctuating blood sugar can weaken the blood vessels in your retina, causing them to leak. I went to see Dr. Fernando about my general eye health and the state of my cataracts. I had previously seen an ophthalmologist in Oshawa and I did not feel my concerns were taken seriously; I felt brushed off. Dr. Fernando was very thorough; he *listened* and then took the time to go over the visuals of my eyes on his computer. It was very *reassuring* to know what is going on with my eyesight. He has referred me on re my cataracts. In the future I will be a loyal patient of Dr. Fernando. Highly recommended!

I WANT TO GIVE A ZERO RATING BUT IT WONT LET ME.
Horrible customer service!!! Dr Peter Chan is great, but his staff are clueless.. useless.. unprofessional.. and under trained.
waited over a month for contact lenses. they never called to tell us our son's glasses were ready for pick up... I called every week to get an update on my lenses. when they were finally in.. I was told I could go pick them up.. when i arrived the next day,, i was told i had to have a "LENS FITTING" but the doctor was not in?!?!?.. I proceeded to pay for the LENS FITTING that I did not receive.. just to get my new lenses

I went in for my eye exam and was greeted very kindly by the 2 receptionists. First one did some eye tests. Then both receptionists helped me pick out 2 pairs of eye frames for after my appointment. Then Dr Fernando came and got me and did the rest of my eye tests. He is very kind and answered all my questions. All in all my appointment went very well with no stress. Thank you to Dr Fernando and his receptionists!

I have been seeing Dr. Fernando for a long time and have nothing but good things to say about him and his team. I have always received excellent service as well as very competitive prices, for my glasses, which I do not purchase anywhere else. This is a great one stop shop for both prescription and sun glasses. Thank you Dr. Fernando and team as well as keep up the good service! Looking forward to receiving my new prescription glasses as well as my next check up.

I had put off getting glasses for probably far too long and only visited DR Fernando when I could no longer see my phone or computer screens without the aid of some grocery store readers.
The doctor set me up with a proper pair of computer glasses and I now realize how far gone my vision actually was and I can work and read without battling double vision, blurring and distorted vision!

Good doctor but be careful about the hidden fees. My suggestion is to be "transparent" and "honest" to your clients about your services and fees before they book their appointments. If your office wants to get extra money for exams, that's okay, but TRANSPARENCY is important to let people know in advance, not in the MIDDLE of the exam. This is unfair to your clients.
I didn't have a good experience at this location for the following reasons:
1. The $105 eye exam fee does not include all tests which are default at other locations (I'm wearing glasses for 12 years and I know what eye examination

Had a good first time experience in February this year during the Eye exams for our family. Nice staff and great doctors. they gave us ample time to select the eye-wear for all of us.
Could be because of Covid but the second time visit was not too great. was rushed into selecting/buying the frames. finally decided to take the prescription and check elsewhere.

I've been going to Dr. Fernando since he had the office beside Lens Crafters at the OC! He is fantastic. He makes you feel very comfortable and he is very knowledgeable.
His staff are also great. They will not only fix your glasses, but will also help you pick a new pair if you're not so good at it on your own. They are always friendly and personable. Not to mention, there is no sales pressure whatsoever.
THE best optometrist I've ever been to and I don't plan on leaving!
