In 1981 the Superintendent of Insurance decreed that all insurance agencies representing more than one insurance company must be known as a broker hence the name change to REM Insurance o/b R.E. Miner Insurance Brokers Limited. Together, Ruth and Bob worked hard to grow their business into the operation it is today.
