Our ferry delayed for two hours so when we finally arrived in Nanaimo, we decided to go for lunch at Huong Lan. The restaurant was packed at 12:30pm and people were still coming in so we waited for about 20 mins. Despite them being so busy, they still had time to sanitize all tables, chairs, menu, and even the condiments on the table. The food was surprisingly delicious, especially the spring roll.

I ordered the number 27 today. When I opened it everything seemed fine until I tried to bite into the beef. It was so over cooked it was inedible (It literally was like biting into a dry rock). I am not the one to write reviews but this happened a few months ago when I ordered the same thing and just thought maybe someone was having an off day in the kitchen. After today it's clear that is not the case though. I use to always eat here but something has changed with the quality of their cooking. Very disappointed :(

Wow! First visit to this place and not disappointed. The menu selection is pretty large so the likelihood of finding something for everyone is pretty good. The prices seem a bit on the higher side but the portions are huge, well seasoned, hot and flavorful! The seating is a bit cozy when it gets busy and the service was generally pretty good with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Basic beer selection and a few deserts available including bubble tea. Will visit again.
