Genest Macgillivary Psychologigal Service
We are seeking a doctoral-level psychologist. This is an opportunity to develop your independent practice within a well-established clinic. We serve adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and are looking for someone experienced in a wide range of clinical problems who has a specialty in counselling couples.

Ours is a supportive environment for both beginning and established practitioners, offering ongoing, informal, brief consultations, as well as regular opportunities for peer consultation with the group. Associates set their own hours, can control their own bookings, and are normally booked four to six weeks in advance and maintain waiting lists.
Services
During the course of counselling and therapy, psychologists help individuals to understand and change their problems, feelings and behaviours. Our psychologists incorporate cognitive-behavioural (CBT), interpersonal, emotion-focussed and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) approaches to counselling and therapy.
With ten doctoral psychologists, we have specialists in most areas of counselling and therapy and assessment for adolescents and adults. All our psychologists are registered with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology. If you do not see the specialty you are seeking here, please call us for more information.
Health professionals are increasingly being drawn into legal proceedings involving their clients. You may not wish to appear in court, but you may be required. Any consultation, any report, any chart note made by a health professional can become the subject of litigation and require that health professional to testify.
Dr. Butler, Dr. Richard, and Dr. Whitehouse are pleased to book neuropsychological assessments in two phases:. Please contact our office (902 492-2546) or info@gmpsychologists.com to schedule an assessment.

Our neuropsychologists, Dr. Beverly Butler, Dr. Annie Richard, and Dr. Christiane Whitehouse, offer complete neuropsychological assessment for adults experiencing cognitive difficulties, behavioural changes, and/or emotional distress after stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological or medical conditions.
Assessments help establish the extent of and limits to disability, PTSD or other legal claims. Our independent assessments (often referred to as IMEs) can document psychological injuries that are found, or help rule out psychological problems. Thorough, knowledgeable assessments are germane in validating or challenging the validity of many disability claims and decisions.
