We had a wonderful overnight, should have booked 2 nights. Love the history and sitting out on the gorgeous wrap around porch. Employees were all great. Lots to do in the area, on grounds and in National Park. The only improvement I'd suggest was the paddleboats and dock area which needed some TLC.
We look forward to our next visit.

Incredibly disappointing! The location and service were excellent but the food was disgusting! Huge chunk of gristle in the croissant sandwich, squares that were partially defrosted and I am sure came from Costco, dry, tasteless scones and 3 sad old strawberries all for $40.00 each plus tax and tip. Both my companion and I experienced severe indigestion starting 45 minutes later. Do not waste your money

Beautiful building with interesting artifacts inside. The grounds and nearby beach are lovely. Unfortunately, our cozy queen room was miniscule with just enough room for the bed. We had to keep our suitcases upright and closed due to lack of space. 😲☹ After our first night we were moved to a slightly larger room which was still very cozy. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived on a day where their restaurant only offered a very expensive huge six course dinner, so that was our only choice for dinner. This massive dinner included two meat main courses and lots of creamy, heavy

Just spent a week at the Dalvay and loved the experience. From the historic turn of the century charm to the elegant amenities of today. Kudos to the helpful attentive staff and a special thanks to David… Macdonald who orchestrated everything (including 7 days of perfect weather) and was the most gracious host. The nearby walk to the beautiful beach didn’t hurt either. 5 stars. Steve & Lana Croteau

Fantastic food and nice cottage. Great beech and exceptional service all around. The only negative was that the cottage had no amenities at all and the only available water in a 3 bedroom cottage was the sink in the 1 bathroom.

Nice historic place with beautiful view. House inside has a restaurant. If you eat here, you don't have to pay National Park entrance fee. My daughter enjoyed seesaw outside this grand house.

Great ambience. Stayed for a night in this historic site. Furnitures are old but obviously that was the point. Clean enough though.
You could see stars at night too so that’s a plus. Overall great experience.

Arrived at dalvay on mon sept 13 for lunch. Website gave the hours of each meal breakfast, lunch and dinner. I waited at Front desk and was told they Were no longer offering lunch due to COVID. I questioned why their website advertised lunch time as 12-1:30 and listed a lunch menu. I had checked the website before my day trip knowing this would be… the half way point for lunch. Employee advised this was very new, had just happened due to COVID. I suggested he correct his website as it was erroneous. He did NOT apologize at all. He was not helpful to offer suggestions for somewhere else to

We went for a special birthday celebration and we were underwhelmed. Was hoping for an upscale experience but sadly it was not what we were expecting. The service was good but the food was just ok. Biggest turn off was the amount of flies in the restaurant. It was worse than having a picnic outside. We could not eat our expensive dinner without swatting flies the whole entire time. Not what I would expect at one of the best restaurants on the island. Willing to try again and hope to have a better experience.

We stayed three nights in what must be the nicest room in the place - room #21, the king suite on the top level. Huge windows overlooking the lake and ocean. They've built the bed up on a bit of a platform so you can see the view from the bed. Heavenly. The room has a big seating area as well and it was nice to spread out for a few nights.
The hotel itself feels like you've stepped back in time. I loved sitting in front of the fireplaces, or sitting in a cozy chair to read my book. The location is also great. We spent a lot of time walking on the beach, and it was a good jumping off point to explore

Went in for coffee and dessert on a cool rainy day in late August. Absolutely beautiful. They had the wood fireplaces burning. Lots of rooms to choose from to sit. Our server was very friendly and was able to get our dessert served before the kitchen opened for dinner!

Always a favorite over the past 50 years or so with our family and we always bring our friends but this is our first time actually staying. If you are looking to be transported to another place and time this is… it, absolutely fabulous historic property, peaceful surroundings, glorious cozy fireplaces, exceptional service, and that sticky date pudding! No better time to treat yourself with a fabulous PEI staycation, so glad we did.

This building is beautiful. The history in the Victorian design and the elegant age is worth it. You feel like you have been transported back to the early 1900’s. So relaxing and serene. We stayed in the suite… that Prince William and Kate stayed in. The view from this room and the grandness of the king bed set up from the rest of the room feels worthy of a prince and princess. Great friendly staff. Very welcoming and truly genuine. From David who checked us in, Sarah who made us our drinks and engaged in great conversation, to Nolan our waiter who gave us excellent service. The food

We had our wedding at Dalvay! It was the perfect day weather wise and the location was gorgeous! The staff was amazing! Went out of their way with planning the wedding and so friendly. Best staff I’ve seen for… a hotel in a long time. Their food was amazing (especially breakfast). We had another location planned before covid but I’m so happy that we switched to Dalvay instead. Thank you guys so so much!

They cancelled my reservation a couple of weeks after I had made it with reason or excuse. I suppose its better than not letting me know but I'd prefer to not try to plan a trip around an activity that could get cancelled.

We had a special birthday dinner here on a chilly early fall night. There were wonderful
aromatic fires in each fireplace. The inn and restaurant Itself is a charming converted mansion...lovely and expansive. Warm woods throughout. Our meals were each superb concoctions with delicious rich sauces and beautiful garnishes. The sticky pudding desert was gorgeous and scrumptiously delicious.

The drink service was slow and the drinks were not done quite to our satisfaction, but we think the breakdown was at the bar, not the server because the bartender was slow and indifferent when we requested after

Dalvay by the Sea is a beautify restored summer home built from 1896-99 in the Queen Anne style. The grounds are beautiful and spacious. The pristine PEI beach (in a provincial park) is an easy walk. The restaurant is fantastic.

This is a place for grown-ups who appreciate a very well-managed hotel and attention to detail. What stands out more than anything in this excellent property is the service: It was just wonderful; and everyone was nice. People went out of their way to help.

We're going back. And that's all the way from Kansas City.

If you enjoy history and especially enjoy the feeling of being transported back in time then Dalvay By the Sea is a must-stay. It is a gorgeous hotel that rewards the curious with so many interesting details hidden everywhere. My wife loved the claw-foot bathtub. We both loved the proximity to the beach (right across the street). Its unique location inside the national park means that there is nothing else around, which gives you that wonderful seclusion to slow down and take it easy.

Along those lines, Dalvay has some unique characteristics. No phones, no TVs, no AC, and enforced quiet times

Dropped by for drinks on a hot Saturday afternoon. The hotel looks very stately from afar and on well maintained grounds. You can look around the hotel, but only if you either dine or are staying there as a guest.
The main floor is beautifully decorated in antique and modern furnishings, giving one the impression of an old English style hunting Lodge.
The property is spotless and has a beautifully kept lawn looking over the water. There are deck chairs and hammocks to catch some rays or relax, as well as on the patio.
Our drinks were quite good, though the waiter was quite fresh and
