My dog Lucy needed to be seen immediately and NVC did not hesitate to take her in. They not only took amazing care of Lucy was also me as I was having a melt down. Thank you Dr. Dykman and the entire team for your loving care with my pup!

We were not clients but they kindly fit us in on the same day to help us with an urgent infection with our puppy. They did thorough testing and were comparable pricing to our vet. They were the only vet in the area that would see us and we appreciate them making the time. It would have been a long drive to the emergency vet with a massive bill if it wasn't for them.

The clinic weighted my puppy incorrectly 2 times. First time it happened affected the type of medication my puppy had to take for ticks (she needed a stronger one). The second time it happened she was weighted 1.4 kgs under her actual weight (she weighted 5kgs on that day). And I was not alerted to the fact that she was losing weight, so it gives me the impression that they do not look at the pets file to see how they are progressing. I am very unhappy. Planning to change vet because of this. Lost trust.

Use to go here for years.
Never had problems.
Was told they could see both dogs at 3:40
Waited in the parking lot in the car for over an hour while i watched vet techs go in and out with several other customers.
I kept asking them how much longer. They said oh youre next.
Waited another 15 minutes and finally phoned.
Was then told it would still be quite a while like close to another hour as they had an emergency.
Was not told this at all when we showed up.
Great! Thanks for letting me know?
I could have rescheduled.
All they said was yeah sorry we are too busy to let people know.
Good

The worst vet experience in my entire life. After packing up my very anxious cat and trying to calm her I arrived at the clinic to be told I couldnt go inside with her. Something that was never told to me when booking the appointment. After about 40min waiting they brought my cat inside, I was greeted with a very rude and condescending vet assistant. Total time waiting, over an hour. Rude, uncompassionate staff. Then the kicker, 30$ to trim her nails??? After spending 450$? Without asking consent. Needless to say I will never be back and will certainly warn others.

After calling 6 other vet clinics in our area that were too booked to see our sick dog Newcastle got us in the same day! They were absolutely phenomenal with our Sally and Dr.D'arcy Dykeman was absolutely amazing. She explained everything to us from the beginning to end. Due to covid we couldn't go in with our pup and the vet techs and Dr. D'Arcy made us feel comfortable. We are so thankful to their team for taking care of Sally!

My 12 week old puppy broke his foot so because of this we had X-rays and a splint put on that needed to be changed weekly due to him growing. I was initially told I would be charged $40 for splint changes, when… I had to take him in the day after having a splint changed because it got wet I was all of a sudden charged $110 literally 24 hours for an added “consultation” fee!! 😡 after this change we ended up at an emergency clinic 4 days later on the Sunday for 2 reasons! The bandage was way to tight as well it was not 100% dry when they put the splint back on as the emergency

I have always ignored how expensive they are (the highest prices in the area) as they were so good but lately they have been more and more rude and unkind. I took my cat in he was in a lot of pain in the back left leg area. My daughter had pointed out to my son there was a lump but I had not heard. I expressed my concern how leaving my pet there was akin to dropping off a baby as neither could say how they were treated and I was very nervous as my cat is very old. They wanted to x-rays to confirm no break, what was I to say they know what they are doing I believe. I am then told they found nothing

We had been taking my dog there since he was only a few months old, last week at 11 years old he was very sick and needed to unfortunately be euthanized. We called them hoping they’d be kind and empathetic enough (like they usually were) and would do that for us. The lady that answered the phone was quite short and said we’d have to wait a whole… week (knowing my dog was suffering) before they could do it because the vet already had 2 that day, but we think it’s because they were mad we wouldn’t put our senior dog through hundreds of dollars worth of x-rays. We used

Where to start... we called this clinic in regards to getting our kitten neutered and gave them our shot history. They said that they could likely squeeze us in but that they would need to examine him first (before booking him for his neuter) We drove half an hour, they looked at him for about 5 minutes and then told us he actually needed to wait 3… more weeks due to their policy and then handed us a bill for almost $100!! (for "examining" him) Hmmm, one would wonder why they didn't just share that 3 week rule over the phone..
I honestly don't know if they actually even looked at him - we

Dr. Green and Dr. Stevens are very compassionate and knowledgeable. The vet techs are amazing with our dogs, always helping to keep them calm. Due to covid we are no longer able to be with our dogs during the appt but I feel very comfortable handing my babies over to them.

My moms dog was very sick and needed surgery, which she was told would cost $6000 and it was not guaranteed , as in her dog may continue to be sick after. When she told them she didn't have that kind of money, one of the vets told her she was a terrible pet owner. Needless to say, most people do not have $6000 for surgery that is not guaranteed. It was already hard on her to see her fur baby this way. No compassion! Horrible and disgusting.

I've taken my Dogs here for years. I respect their opinions and trust in what they tell me to do. I never found them to pressure me into anything and they've always given me the facts and were honest about my pets health. I highly recommend this Vet. We usually see Dr. Green, however Dr. Teresa Perez and Dr. Stevens have helped my pets in the past and have also been wonderful. Finances can be tough sometimes and vet bills can get expensive. I've always been honest with Dr. Green about what I can afford and he's navigated around what I should do while keeping my pets health as his top priority.

I have been with Newcastle Vet for 20 years. They have always been exceptional. But this past Monday I owe them so much gratitude. My senior dog was choking on food. He was unresponsive and not breathing. I rushed him to Newcastle Vet and the vet on call (I believe Dr Green) saw him immediately and saved our Scooby's life. We cannot begin to express our gratitude to the staff that night. Thank you.
