Services
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Carter Veterinary Hospital stresses the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
My mom, Dr. Carter, wanted me and Sadie to show you around. First stop is our waiting room! You can sit comfortably and wait for your appointment, while our receptionist gets you a coffee or tea. The kennels behind me are where your pet would stay if they were in the hospital for the day. The humans have a lovely collection of soft blankets for your pets to sleep on while they are here.
Your pet requires a physical examination on a yearly basis. Whether your pet is due for vaccines or not the benefits of having a physical exam are substantial. During your pet's wellness exam, your veterinarian will make many observations, including weight change in your pet, respiratory rate and sounds, heart rate and sounds, checking eyes, ears and mouth for any abnormalities, and addressing any concerns you may have with your pet.
Radiology is an excellent way to diagnose many different diseases or traumas. Carter Veterinary Hospital is equipped with a digital x-ray which provides quality images for the veterinarians to interpret. Most people know that x-rays are a great tool to see bone fractures or diseases involving the bone, but did you also know that it is an essential tool to diagnose many different diseases?

We have received care for our dog and cats at Carter's with the greatest of compassion and expertise. I was especially taken aback by the wonderful treatment we received and the tenderness shown as we had to put our dog Oakley to sleep. Highly recommended. Could do with more staff or increased capacity due to popularity of Carter's. Had to call multiple times when busy to get through.

We have a new puppy and Carter has taken very good care of us so far. They have taken extra care to make sure they keep in touch during Covid19. Easy process - call when you arrive and staff will come and get your pet. As soon as they are in with the vet, the Doctor will personally give you a call to walk through what they are doing with you. We have not met the staff face to face yet :( but we already feel like our dog is treated like family.

Amazing 1st experience at this clinic with our 1st pet (9 week old kitten) The Staff and Dr.Carter took their time hearing our concerns and giving us their feedback. I had concerns on the Sunday after our 1st appointment so I emailed the clinic expecting a response on the Monday when they re-opened but Dr.Carter kindly responded on her day off to put my mind at ease! Amazing and so caring! Thank you!

Dr. Linda Carter & her staff at Carter Veterinary Hospital are amazing! Our newly adopted Malamute mix, Nova, was very unsure & growly with them (she is a rescue and isn’t a fan of physical manipulations) so to keep it a positive experience especially for her first time with them they decided to bring her out to us & do the exam outside to help her feel better & so it’s safer for them as well! They were very nice & explained everything to us, answered all of our questions, & very much genuinely care for their patients! We will definitely be having them as her regular vet. Well worth the drive
