Services
Upper Canada Child Care provides an environment in which your children can experience healthy and enjoyable opportunities for growth. At Upper Canada Child Care centres, we build caring, responsive relationships between our educators, children and families to create learning environments that foster a sense of belonging, provide rich opportunity for play, and cultivate each child's competence, capacity and potential.
Through focusing on the four foundations of learning - well-being, engagement, belonging and expression - our programs promote physical, social and emotional health, and foster communities of learners made up of our children, families and educators. With these priorities in mind, we have defined a set of goals and approaches, in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, that guide our daily practices.
Our Staff Our professionals strive to maintain the highest standards of child care. We believe professional development provides teachers with new skills and information on current issues. When permanent staff members are absent, supply staff are employed to deliver our programs. Supply staff must meet the same requirements as the staff being replaced.
Volunteers and students working in our centres are expected to meet the same criteria as members of our permanent staff, though they will not necessarily have the same credentials. Upper Canada Child Care Centres have been chosen by various community colleges, universities, and secondary schools to provide opportunities for their students to complete practicum placements.
Some of our centres provide infant programs for children age 5 months to 18 months. A warm and loving atmosphere prevails in our infant rooms, where a 1:3 ratio (one teacher to three infants) enables our staff to provide individualized care for each baby.
Infants are nurtured through a variety of sensory and movement experiences, and the importance of following each baby's sleep, feeding and play routines, as it is done at home, is mirrored in our care. The importance of communication between parents and teachers is emphasized through a daily record of each baby's activities, food intake, and diaper routine.

This review is specifically for summer camp 2021 @Maple(Vaughan). Kids spent most of their day on the school ground with minimum supervision and barely any organized activity. Younger kids were bullied by older ones. It was just an extended day care and by no means run as a summer camp. You could see absolute lack of enthusiasm in camp supervisors. My child did not even get a hello on the first day, let alone a warm welcome.

My children went to their centres and so did my sister’s kids. Excellent!!!!! Professional staff who have to meet high expectations to work there. They are always being trained and taking workshops. Super clean facilities, the menus have a high range of food. My child had severe a Ali allergies and they were able to ensure she was ALWAYS safe. It was a huge relief for me as a mom to not have to worry about her every day.
The only negative I would give them is the Supervisor they brought in from another centre to replace the one who left was very young, immature and not the right fit for this
