We were a bit early for our lunch reso with friends at Yorkdale and wanted to grab something quick as we were hungry so we grabbed a chocolate croissant, almond danish and a coffee. They were all ok, a bit pricey but then again most things at Yorkdale mall are on the pricey side :)

I give this restaurant three stars. I have been to Michel's Bakery Cafe at least ten times, most recently in March.

Michel's has a wide selection of soups, salads, sandwiches and baked goods. Its always busy but the line moves quickly and all of the staff are friendly. All of the food is consistently good but not amazing. On my last order I got a toasted sandwich and it was extremely salty. With that being said, I could and would eat almost anything on their menu. I think the prices are a bit high but I keep coming back because I like the majority of their menu items, particularly some

I have been going here almost every time I go to the Yorkdale shopping centre. I love their baked goods. Their sandwiches are great (ask them to toast it for you) and their salads are amazing. I think they charged too much for any pre-packaged beverages like orange juice but their self-serve coffee is good. It's such a nice place to wind down and take a break from shopping!

The pastries are good, if you buy 6 you pay only for 5. My favourite is the almond croissant and the blueberry cheese danish.

I checked out the high end bakeries in Yorkdale.

Firstly, I am not a fan of macaron. Secondly, the pain du chocolate was nothing special i.e. everything at the two high end places are, in my opinion, grotesquely overpriced for what they are.

Michel's Bakery is no frills see what you get and is perfectly acceptable without the hype.

Their counter service is rushed and busy but polite.

This is still my go-to at Yorkdale. Reliable AND FRESH.

This bakery is pretty good for being located in a shopping mall.
We randomly decided to try the pastries here while walking by, and it was quite satisfactory.
We ordered a regular croissant, chocolate croissant, coffee, and milk. The croissants were bigger than normal, chewy and soft. There's no wow-factor to be honest, but it's a decent cafe with good baked goods.

If you have any trouble finding this place in Yorkdale...just follow your nose! The aroma is very potent and can really pull in a crowd. It has seating both inside the store and some tables out front. If it's super busy you might find yourself having to sit at the couches a little farther down.

I was really thirsty after trekking through Yorkdale for a few hours. I was looking for something refreshing and not caffeinated or in a bottle. I settled on getting a mango smoothie (they also have strawberry) for $4.70 before tax. That seemed a tad bit expensive, especially since I wasn't entirely

This was my favourite croissant place until now.
The croissants we ordered today were flat and without any crispness; the coffee and soup were both luke warm and tasteless.
The servers did not even ask if we wanted to heat up the croissants and soup.
I think I will start to look for another better croissant place.

This review is only for the counter service, which is consistently great. The selection of loaves and pastries are always fresh, and they'll warm up your purchase for you so it's even better. They're efficient and friendly, which can be hard to maintain when a place is always so busy.

My go-to orders are the spinach and feta pastries, the bourekas, and the cheese scones. They're always flaky and flavourful, and an affordable way to grab a quick meal. I almost always stop here when I'm shopping.

High-quality coffees with different blends and flavours.

German Chocolate Cake Flavoured Coffee - $1.99: coffee tasted smooth and had a deliciously sweet fragrance. Great price

Come here often for breakfast on Saturdays. Usually easy to get a seat or do take out! Their freshly baked goods are the bomb!!! And lots of selection too. Also, the Italian wedding soup is top notch!

This used to be one of my goto stops while at yorkdale. It is very inconvenient when your washroom is being occupied and the men's washroom doesn't have a change table it makes it very difficult for parents. Your staff also threw out the entire feeding kit for my kids. When I returned after 3mins of realizing I may have left it behind. No one even bothered to keep it on hold in case we returned. Not coming back.

I've been coming to this bakery with my family and myself for the last 15 years or so, and I swear, the chocolate almond croissants never fail to disappoint! Each pastry is flaky, crumble, crispy, sweet, and salty all in one and is a definite pit stop every time I go to Yorkdale.

Personal favourite is the spinach and feta pastry :)

I love it at Michel's bakery. A perfect place to meet up with friends if you plan on catching up at brunch. Since it is in the mall you can always go shopping afterwards or even go to the movies. I usually get the chocolate cookies from here. They are loaded with chocolate chips and are the softest cookies I've ever eaten. If you are looking for something to fill you though, I would recommend getting their Cajun chicken panini and always makes sure you get it on the sesame bun. Also the their pizza, they just recently changed their style of pizza so it looks like a personal pizza you

I've walked passed Michel's bakery right in the morning and I can smell the fresh pastries being pulled from the oven. I got the almond croissant for a friend but I had a piece and it was good. I liked how the almond butter wasn't too sweet and that the almond croissant was still super fluffy.

Not bad, just nothing special.

Michel's Bakery Cafe is inside Yorkdale Mall. There's a lengthy wait, especially on the weekend and if you want to get a seat. Instead, I just had some pastries to go. The lineup is about 5-10 minutes, at 4pm in the afternoon.

They offer bagels, croissants, buns, Danishes and other pastries. I tried one specialty chocolate croissant and another cheese and jam Danish. Total added up to $7.35 including tax. They tasted meh, maybe even a bit dry. It wasn't bad, but just nothing special. It tastes the same as the pastries at the grocery store.

Taste really bad in general after owner changed. TBH coffee is bad... come on it's coffee. Staffs are not nice and owner is worst. Owner should treat their employees like family and not garbage. I over heard the conversation from the kitchen. It was not pretty. Oh if that was @ my work place. HR right away.
Please improve.

Looks like I forgot to review this place!
We visited Michels at the end of December, during the holidays so you can imagine the line up at Yorkdale to get a seat. We waited for a while but luckily got a place.
There is so much to choose from - sandwiches, soups, baguettes and a huge assortment of delicious pastries. Naturally, I opted for the broccoli and cheese crossaint with a mocha and was extremely satisfied with my selection. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious and price is also quite reasonable - on par with most coffee shops.
It was a little noisy and cramped as tables were squashed

This is a nice Michel's Baguette location. It opens early on Saturdays & it was already busy when we arrived. They have a nice seating area for those who want to eat off their deli style menu. They also have the quick service window where you can buy bread & pastries. Their loaves sell quickly & for the cranberry loaf they were baking a new batch. They said it wouldn't be ready for another 10 minutes. My mom decided to come back for the new batch but by the time we got back it was already sold out! For myself I bought a scone & it was delicious.

I was blown away by how GOOD this place is. I'm not a fan of bread/bagels/baguettes.. anything like that really. But my friend and I stopped by and when I tried his fanzette with cheese (basically a gourmet croissant with a sausage and cheese- looks like a westernized 'cheun jai bao' for all my cantonese folks)

The pastries and baguettes look super fresh and they are not understaffed at all. So many people working hard in an assembly line and customer service was great. The pastries are also very unique and they have stuff like a pizza croissant. They also had a staff giving out
