Since 1960, Tre Mari Bakery has been an institution in its neighbourhood and has a legacy of playing an important role in Toronto's Italian immigrant story.
We focus on the quality of our ingredients and we pay attention to detail. When you pre order a cake it will always be prepared fresh with ingredients made from scratch. We have a menu of cakes that we regularly make, but also can work on a custom cake to create exactly what you're imagining. I really really wanted to love this place because the staff is one of the friendliest and must helpful I have encountered in a while, but unfortunately, the bakery items I ordered weren't that great. The custard and cream in the Italian rum cake were delicious, but the sponge was dry and had no rum flavor. The rum ricotta tart had a nice crust and filling, but it fell apart, both at room temperature and heated, and looked like a big mess on a plate - maybe a thicker crust or thinner filling would help? I will try some of their savory items to see if those are better, but I don't think I'd return

I am very very torn about giving Tre Mari 4-stars. But alas, the service's a little bit of a let down for me, so I had to make note of that.
My partner and I usually try to get each other birthday cakes from different local Toronto bakeries so we can try out different places. This year, I chose Tre Mari. My partner wanted a fruit cake so I ordered the Tutto Frutta. It was hands down one of the best cakes I've had in Toronto. The cake itself was so moist, simple, and good. The whipped cream was just the right amount of sweetness. It was light and delightful.

This place is surely unique. We tried the veal which was not the best but also not the worst. The cheesecake however was absolutely delicious. The staff here are super friendly and helped us pick the best options for desserts. It is surely a must try. There were other desserts which looked great so we will surely be back to try.

My 2-star review only refers to the items that I purchases. The location has a large dining room and offers many pastries breads etc.
The cannolies (see photos) shells were well made and crunchy indicating that they were freshly made and filled.
The filling, however, did not taste like good quality ricotta cheese nor did they have the traditional orange peels.
The Mille feuille (spelling?) were flaky, tasty and fresh.
I also purchased 2 cookies for someone with food allergies. I called them to verify that they were safe for the person and left a message explaining the issue and asking them

A very warm and personable bakery. Feels run by a real community of workers. They were extremely friendly and welcoming to us! We got some desserts from the bakery and they were great! I found the store layout a bit confusing and got a bit lost as I tried to shop around for other items. Coffee and pastries seem like their main focus. Overall a great place to shop!

I had the large vanilla and chocolate cannolis which were $3.50 each. The cannolis were prefilled so while the shell still had some crunch to it you can def tell they were not freshly fried. Otherwise, the shell was not noteworthy. The filling for me was smooth, light, and not too sweet. Vanilla filling was one dimensional in taste and chocolate filling was sour. I still def preferred the vanilla over the chocolate. There's no way to sugar coat it, these

Best pastries in the game!! I got the vanilla cream croissant today, highly recommend. All servers and even shoppers are so friendly. It’s so welcoming and smells wonderful walking in the whiff of fresh coffee and hot foods. A safe shopping experience with floor stickers and sanitizers too. I loved having my coffee on the sidewalk table.

I spent nearly $200 on a cake and food for my husband’s birthday. The cake was terrible tasting and they ruined the shape of it when delivering it. They took the cake back to the bakery to be fixed and brought… it back. It was still deformed looking and they gave me nothing fit my inconvenience. The cake was approx $60, it was 6 inches. Terrible experience.

I am in heaven every time I am inside this bakery. This place is a bit inconvenient for me to visit so I don't frequent often. But I get so excited when I do make a trip here. I really like their amaretti cookies and cannolis. The amaretti cookies are so soft and chewy on the inside!
I've tried other pastries and it's a hit/miss. Sometimes they taste great and sometimes they don't taste too fresh. I've never had an issue with their cookies though. Their amaretti cookies are amazing!

I had only a sfogliatelle, and it was very good. The place was quite crowded on a Saturday morning, as it seems to be more than "just" a bakery. It's not as quaint as some smaller bakeries---it has a deli section, a hot bar, a separate counter register, but they do seem to make the breads fresh (even if they're a bit squishy). As for the sfogliatelle from the pastry counter, it was fresh enough to be crunchy, and the filling wasn't too sweet or creamy. Not mind-blowingly good, but perfectly respectable and up to standard.

Very great selection of foods from fresh buns to prepared hot foods to sliced meats! I went there with my friend for her to try the cannoli and she enjoyed it very much (it was her first time having cannolis). I got a shortbread cookie and it was not stale which was a plus. I am interested in coming back to try their hot foods one day.

Probably the friendliest service I've ever had at a bakery / cafe .. I normally go to Caldense because it's close to my house. But I was in the neighbourhood and decided to come here and everything I got was delicious!
The coffee is velvety and smooth and the cannolis are to die for ! I recommend the pistachio ones but the ricotta ones are delicious and fresh as well!

I'm in love with this Italian bakery!
The star of Tre Mari is easily its cannolis. I tried a few and they were all consistently good: creamy filling was smooth and not overly sweet, tube was perfectly fried so it was firm (not hard) and tasty (not overcooked). So whatever flavour you get, you're sure to enjoy.
You can see I'm a big fan of the cannolis, but also really enjoyed their gelato. I got a medium cup (2 scoops/flavours), and chose sweet cream and peach gelato. Both were summer in a cup: so good!
So after all this raving, why only 4 stars? I was a bit disappointed with
