Our top priority is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone looking to get fit through Martial Arts. We specialize in both Brazilian Jiu jitsu and Muay Thai, whether you're looking for a great workout and your goals are fitness oriented or you're looking to train for competition or self-defense purposes we have the class for you!
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been proven to be an extremely effective form of self-defense. The base of all Jiu Jitsu is in the application of leverage and technique over physical attributes such as size, strength and speed. At PTT Richmond we encourage students to better themselves physically in order to get the most out of their BJJ.

Services
If Jiu Jitsu is new to you this class is the perfect place to start. At PTT Richmond our beginners Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program is all about fundamentally understanding all of the major positions of control that make up jiu jitsu. We we cover the basic goals and objectives of each position from both from an offensive and defensive perspective.
Perseverance Through Adversity - Through the practice of Jiu Jitsu and the games we play in class your kids will test themselves against their friends and peers. They won't always win and that's ok, as a team both students and coaches alike support each other through these challenges in order to help improve on mistakes.
Joining a new gym can often be intimidating. Our goal is to offer the best fitness experience possible. Our supportive instructors work with each student to build their physical and technical abilities. We provide an ego free environment to train in. If you're willing to work hard and encourage others to do the same, you'll be a welcome addition to the team.
When learning in a class environment it's sometimes hard to get the individual attention you need. In a school setting this is where a tutor would be useful. The same case can be made for your jiu jitsu or muay thai practice. If you struggling with class material or are looking to accelerate your learning then a private or semi private lesson might be the solution.

Great BJJ gym, offering both Gi and No-Gi classes- with instructors from a wide and diverse background.
Wide variety of skill levels and also very beginner-friendly. With that being said, there are a lot of members who regularly compete as well.
Classes are well-structured and really drill in the technique for a good understanding of content being taught. Classes usually end with rolling/sparring and an opportunity to utilize class material.
Lots of different classes available (morning, mid-morning, afternoon, evenings)

I absolutely love this place. The head instructor Evan was very knowledgable and down to earth. The instructors Eden, Jon and Dan are fantastic as well. I love it so much that I am strongly considering taking my wife and kids here as well.
I've been training here a couple times a week for the last couple months and so far I feel like this is a meat head free zone.
I haven't tried yet, but i'm excited to try the Muay Thai program as well.

Was visiting Vancouver from Hong Kong and wanted to get some training in — Spoke with Evan who invited me to come train at the gym although they didn’t technically offer drop ins. This generous gesture was much appreciated.
The gym is spacious and clean and the level/quality of instruction was great. Had many fun and challenging rolls with the members there who were all very technical, friendly and welcoming.
Would definitely recommend this gym to people in the area who want to check out the art of BJJ.

When I first registered my kids, I did it for the self-defense aspect. I wanted to give my daughter some tools to deal with her extra high energy, super mischievous little brother. But in the last 10 short months, both brother and sister have grown to love the sport. They also recently brought home medals from their first tournament! Professor Evan and the other coaches are very dedicated to the kids program and have made the classes so fun that my kids get sad when they have to miss them.

Kids program is awesome! Very engaging for my 4 yr old and a great way to burn some energy! The instructors are very patient and are able to keep control of the minions. Such a great way to keep kids fit while teaching them essential life skills like self defense, sportsmanship, discipline and respect!

Awesome club! Evan has built a great school that is both welcoming and inspiring. I have been training jiu-jitsu for 8 years and has been to a lot of different clubs, and Pacific Top Team Richmond is definitely one of the best I have been to. Evan has allowed me to rediscover my passion for jiu-jitsu and my life is better because of that. Thank you Evan.

What makes PTT Richmond really great is that it isn't pretentious and that everyone that trains here (from the Professor to the newest student) is down to earth, friendly, and open to new personalities. You won't find any uber-macho, meathead attitudes here.
Training is very technical and intense, and the space is bright, clean, and inviting.
Evan the Professor and all other instructors are extremely clear in how they teach, and demonstrate a very unique sense of patience and understanding when they help you troubleshoot any issues you're having.
I highly recommend this club to people of all

I have been training in Jiu Jitsu for over just six years and have trained at a number of different academies.
PTT Richmond is a great place, with great people, under the knowledgeable watch of Black Belt Evan Durand. My experience at PTT Richmond is nostalgically reminiscent of my earliest days training in Jiu Jitsu. No politics, only hard work, sweat, and technical Jiu Jitsu.
Friendly faces, good technical grappling, and strong team camaraderie are just some of the things the you will find at this great gym.

This is Gracie Barra Richmond!
Been studying Martial Arts for more than a couple years now - and this gym was great. Found the Gym while working out at the Olympic Oval. The instructor knew my strengths and was receptive to my comments. The class was technical yet very active. I happened to get a better work out there then at the Gym working out myself. After a week of free classes, I am signing Up - 6pack here I come! :)
