This summer, in collaboration with Connections Community Services Society, Wujitang has provided a. I am extremely pleased to be able to learn Chinese martial arts from Master Gao of Wujitang during the past few years. In classes, he always explains in detail what our mind and body need to do in order to perform and master the various moves and steps of Taichi, Bagua, and Yiquan.
He would also demonstrate to us and work with us personally. Through learning Taichi, Bagua, and Yiquan with Master Gao, I have greatly improved my body posture and enhanced my lower body strength, and was able to run my first marathon. I would not hesitate to recommend Master Gao to anyone who is interested in learning Chinese martial arts and in improving health and body fitness.

Martial arts practitioners often say that "you do not leave your teacher even after learning Taichi for ten years, but you can kill after learning Xing Yi for one year". This saying describes how easy it is to learn and practise Xing Yi. The principle of Xing Yi is to use your heart to express your intention, and is also known as "the Fist of Acting on Intention".
Grand Master Dong Hai-chuan founded Baguazhang in the early 19th century. Its system of practice is based on circular stepping motions from Taoist practices combined with combat techniques from martial arts. Baguazhang applies the basic theory of I-Ching, i.e. restless in motion and endless in changes.
Yiquan, also known as Dachengquan, was founded by Wang Xiang-zhai, a disciple of Grand Master Guo Yunshen of Xing Yi Quan. After Grand Master Guo passed away, Master Wang started to travel all over China to visit famous masters of different styles of martial arts to help improve his own technique. During 1920's, he founded "Yiquan".
Wujitang, a martial arts school in Greater Vancouver, was founded in 2009 by China-Canada Traditional Martial Arts Institute with a view to promoting Chinese traditional martial arts. Master Gao is the founder of Wujitang and the Institute and has more than twenty years of teaching experience. He has a deep and unique understanding of internal martial arts, their forms, principles and weapons.
Master Gao has been practising martial arts for more than 40 years since childhood. He has been teaching at his martial arts school in the People's Republic of China since the mid 90's. In the early 21st century, he was invited to the United States on two occasions as a martial arts instructor.
After moving to Canada in 2006, Master Gao continues to teach and promote martial arts, and in 2009, has successfully founded China-Canada Traditional Martial Arts Institute and Wujitang.Master Gao regards promoting martial arts as his responsibility and goal, and teaches without holding back. He does not follow the traditional teaching method of "students learn whatever the master teaches".

Master Gao is very experienced and is very patient. He observes the progress of each student carefully and provides guides based on individual's capability. The institution is at Richmond located next to Knight bridge exit, and it has an over 3600 sq ft indoor space. It offers a great variety of courses including Taichi, Bagua, Xing-yi, Taichi sword, and Bagua spear pole, etc.
