Karate BC membership is available to any resident of BC that is a member of one of our member karate clubs. Membership provides every member many benefits and supports the development of karate within British Columbia. It is through membership that Karate BC is able to continue the growth and development of karate from recreational fun, fitness and participation programs to World and Olympic levels of achievement.
This is a great opportunity for the members to hear about what is going on in their organization. Karate BC will be holding the AGM completely "online" via Zoom (as webinar) again this year in order to allow as many members as possible to attend. We invite and request all of our members to attend, if possible, and learn about the current status of Karate BC and how you can help to continue growing our great organization.
As noted in section 5.4.3 of our Financial Management Policy, an individual membership fee paid directly to Karate BC will be reimbursed if the request is made to Karate BC in writing no later than 10 days after the date that the membership fee was received by Karate BC, minus a 10% administrative fee for processing.
One of Karate BC's policies on membership require all club instructors 16 years and older, including assistant instructors, to undergo a Criminal Records Check - including a vulnerable sector check - every three years. The original results are to be submitted to Karate BC's office, along with the receipt if there was a fee.
All Karate BC members are potential BC Team members. Working with your Sensei to establish dedicated technical, tactical, physical and mental practise sessions will prepare you for the journey ahead. Karate BC members who are interested in the athlete pathway should be entering many non-elite competitions throughout the year.
