King's Bakery gets its royal name from a bakery in Poland where our grandfather worked ever since he was 14 years old. The bakery had a long standing history in supplying the area with fresh baked good using only controlled traditional recipes that we past down from actual royalty, or so the story goes.
Our grandfather Marian Gaska was born in 1939 in small town called Krasnik, Poland. Our family immigrated in Calgary Canada in 1989 and he and my grandmother joined us shortly after. Baking was all he knew thus, he continued making small batch breads in his home kitchen. He had a pail under his sink where he would ferment the sourdough culture and bake bread for friends and family.

We are now offering pickup or delivery of our European rye breads and products in Calgary. For either option we require you to order before 5PM the day before. This gives us enough time to inform the baker to make sure your order is in and baked fresh. Hours of Operation | Baking Fresh Tuesday to Saturday (Closed Sunday & Monday) Order before 5pm for next day delivery or pickup.
Our traditional recipe starts off by a century year old process using sourdough culture. This culture then reacts in tandem with the Rye Flour to create the deliciously soft bread on the inside and the crusty shell on the outside. Our range of breads all have rye flour in them and vary between 5% -100% rye and mixed in with either wheat or white flour.
