Excellent pastries and fantastic customer service, courteous and very friendly.
Best almond croissants I have ever tasted in Calgary, well baked, crunchy, almond paste inside and toasted almonds on top.
Cinnamon rolls were to die for, obviously going back for at least dozen next time.
My partner got a meat pie, it was given properly in a paper bag, she absolutely loved it.
We got an almond galette as well, lovely.
So much food to try at our next visit.
Support this local great bakery!

They are nice people but I read in the comments
" best strawberry shortcake in calgary" so I paid $30 for a 8 inches one and it was a vanilla cake, with whip cream and 6 strawberries on top. No jelly or strawberries in between, nothing. Only a few strawberries on top and its called a "strawberry shortcake" . The look was not awesome either.
1This makes me understand that I can make basic cakes and sell them and people will say its the best in town. I should've bought a boxed cake that would've cost me $15 to make in total probably even less than that. I thought I would get an awesome cake since

Best cake I have ever had in North America! An unprecedented quality of cake and the fresh cream makes the higher cost very well worth it. We had a community event and for the first time, in a large scale event, not one bite was left on the plates. People "inhaled" every single crumb. No waste and no wasted money, so great. Strongly recommend.

On a little adventure in Calgary, I had a hankering for some delicious baking but it had to be gluten free, open on a Sunday and delicious. Thankfully Amandine popped up in the good old google search.
I tried the cookies that were pictured and I cannot remember the name, as well as two of the macaroons. They were both good. They tasted fresh and had a good flavour. Pro tip for the cookies is to leave them in a hot car and they become a little melty and just perfect texture.
They have a lot of baked goods and a selection of gluten free treats as well. There was also a good sized parking lot outside

I can't speak to the rest of the cakes here but I was really disappointed in the cheesecake they offer.
If you sell a cheesecake that has... I would describe it as a fluffy, cake-like crust with no taste, you should at least make that clear... or maybe make the cheesecake at all rich and dense instead of light and airy and without a lot of flavour. I would expect this cheesecake on... an airplane maybe? But even an airplane meal cheesecake would have a graham cracker crust. Eye roll.
The topping was nice though. Did a good job on the strawberry topping.
I've nothing to say about

Best apple strudel in Calgary. These guys do all sorts of custom cakes and have been in business for over 35 years. They probably have the largest selection of cake toppers I’ve ever seen for a bakery. And large variety of pastries from European desserts to gluten free cakes. It’s one of the few bakeries in town that can do both gluten free and dairy free cakes.

We dropped by on a Saturday afternoon while waiting for our car to be maintained. We had a pretty poor experience at the Tim Hortons down the road and thought a bakery might be able to redeem our spirits. Sadly no, the coffee was ok. And the sausage and Shepards pie rolls were just ok. It seemed like a lot of people were ordering custom cakes and pastries which may be their specialty, but for a quick coffee and a bite, I would say go elsewhere.

Was so disappointed in the cake I got for my sisters birthday. First of all when I went to pick up the cake I was told they didn't have my order, which shocked me as I had called in a few days prior. Then they told me to wait, maybe some miscommunication on their end. Finally got the cake, it was a a vanilla layered cake.
There was literally no cake!! A thin layer of cake, I think the just cut the layer in half and the rest was icing. It was literally all icing! No one at the party liked the cake at all... I mean it was gobs of icing. It went in the garbage. I felt so bad. So disappointed

A friend told me about the amazing cakes they make at this bakery so I had to order one for my Boyfriends birthday in February. The free delivery is a great feature
UNFORTUNATELY the cake did not arrive at the party. I was extremely disappointment and had to scramble to Safeway to get a replacement cake.
The next day you better believe I called to see what the heck happened to the cake. The owner was genuinely shocked and sympathetic to my issue, apparently the person taking the order wrote the wrong date down and they were starting to make the cake that day.

When I was a little girl, one of my favourite things to do was stop at a bakery in Leduc with my mom and come home with a tray of apple strudel. Many of you know just how much I LOVE my apple pie, but strudel, oh my goodness... over the moon for a tray of bakery quality apple strudel.
Today was the first time I ever set foot in Amandine... and can you guess what I found? Oh my goodness, I'm a little girl all over again... all I'm missing is my mom to buy the strudel for me (don't worry, she's alive and well, she just doesn't live anywhere near Calgary!)

Hands down, the best strudel in town. (Sorry Grandma!)
I visit Amandine once a week, minimum. Whether it be for a delicious cinnamon bun, a croissant (chocolate filled or not), pain au chocolat, bread (yeah they make that too), or sometimes I even stop in for lunch to enjoy a 'sub' style sandwich served on fresh baked baguette... hmm...
Amandine really is a treat that should be experienced and shared. I recommend them to everyone.
The staff is friendly, their is usually parking, it's conveniently located (for me anyway haha) and the only negative thing I can think about is that

Having graced our city 31 years ago, Amandine Bakery & Pastry won my heart and tastebuds in the matter of seconds.
Famous for their European style sweets (Dutch almond cake, apple Kunchen, peasant loaves, Socital breads, pastries and layer cakes), this place is often a central hub in the Dover area.
What I especially love about this place is how festive it is! Celebrating the holidays in full force, Spring brings home-made Easter chocolates, and Vienna cookies filled with jam, while Christmas brings Buche de Noel, gingerbread houses, almond rings and marzipan!
