We ordered from here for the first time yesterday. And the last.
I don’t even know where to begin. It was all terrible. The wonton soup was bad, the breaded chicken was 90% over cooked breading and the chicken… had weird brown colours. The spring rolls were tasteless. But the chow mein is where we just said enough, and threw it all in the trash. I’ve never seen such a slimy slimy slimy mess. Oozing out of the container and the inside was even worse.
Horrible experience.

We ordered dinner for two with chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork, cashew and chicken chop suey, and a side of deep fried prawns. Everything tasted bland. The only thing that had a bit of flavour was the sweet and sour sauce and the soy sauce packet. The chow mein noodles were dry and undercooked, with limp ribbon pieces of processed chicken on top, the vegetables were 95% uncooked and the batter on the prawns was greasy, over cooked and tasteless. Spent $32 for this and could only eat 1/4 of each item. This is the second time I have ordered from there, and wanted to give them the benefit of

I am currently sitting in Fonbo having a very enjoyable working lunch. As always, I crave their insane Fried chicken wings and pork fried rice. After I finish working, I'm taking home some delish chowmein and their to die for garlic ribs for dinner to go. The staff are so warm and welcoming (one of the sweet girls just brought one of their regulars… their daily paper and their favorite drink - I just love how they know their customers so well), and their service is quick and full of interaction and fun. You can tell they value their customers and they stand by their promise of good, friendly

Food was not very good. Ginger fried beef tasted like they had used the same batter as a fish dish. It tasted like fish each bite. Chicken chow mein had pressed man made chicken cut into strips. Shrimp fried rice was ok, and lemon chicken was crunchy and all but didn't have a very good sauce. 2 of the 4 dishes I almost don't want to eat the leftovers for. Was looking for easy basic takeout and was disappointed.

Fonbo has been around forever, and we've been buying their wor wonton soup for years. We really enjoy the soup. The broth is flavourful, the wontons are delicious, and there's a nice assortment of pork, chicken, and vegetables to make it a full meal.
We've eaten in a few times, and while the service is good and the prices are reasonable, we've found most dishes are bland. Most disappointing are the noodle dishes. I'm quite sure, by the taste, that the noodles are of the dry grocery store variety. Once you've had house-made noodles, you can't go back.

Giant plates of food and the most wonderful staff. I guess you would say I'm a bit of a regular as I get greeted by name every time I'm there and so do all of my coworkers. The staff here are wonderful. They are fast, friendly, inviting, attentive and make everyone feel special.
The food is terrific too. Really inexpensive at lunch for more food than anyone should be able to eat. The value is exceptional. Don't like green peppers - no problem. Don't like onions - no problem. Ready to pay - they are ready for you in an instant. This is very much appreciated when you are out

The staff are really friendly, which made up for the moderate blandness of the food. The egg rolls are disappointingly greasier than I would expect and the beef broccoli on chow mein noodles is mediocre. I can't say anything on the menu is a big draw, it feels like people really only really here because it's handy. I wanted to like it more, it just wasn't happening.
