For over 20 years, Calgary Hot Yoga has been guiding yogis to heal their bodies and transform their minds. We continually adapt to the needs of our community and 2021 is no different! With our reopening, we are aligning our classes with the Ghosh Yoga Lineage. This yoga offers something for everyone: it can be a therapeutic practice, a meditation and pranayama practice, an advanced posture practice.
Ghosh Yoga will meet you where you are and get you where you want to go. Come join us! Our yoga community is made up of a wide variety of people coming together to practice and support each other. In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Moh'kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the yxe Nakoda and Tsuut'ina nations.

Ghosh Yoga is a yoga tradition first practiced and taught by Bishnu Charan Ghosh beginning in the early 1900s. Although this tradition begins with him, it's roots can be traced back through even earlier texts and philosophies. An overarching phrase or mantra that can define Ghosh Yoga is: Posture. Stillness.
I still remember my first Hot Yoga class at Calgary Hot Yoga: where I was in the room, how class went, and how excited I was to go back! Since then, my yoga journey has been about stepping into possibilities as they show up. From taking my first teacher training, my first teaching gig, to managing and eventually taking over CHY, opportunities just seemed to show up.
This class is the best example of the tension and release aspect of a Ghosh yoga practice. Move into the posture, be still in the posture, release the posture, all while maintaining mindfulness and breath. No easy feat! In our busy, quick paced world, the effort of holding in stillness can be very challenging.

I highly recommend this studio.
Before I got into yoga, and attending this studio. I used to have problems with my back, I was consistently going to the chiropractor and I even tried acupuncture, nothing really fixed it. My sister recommended I come with her to a class at Calgary Hot Yoga because it could help with this issue.
Long story short, I have been going to classes for around 8 months now and my back has been fixed, and the strain is finally gone! The other benefits to my mental, sleep and overall well being are also noticeable from all breath work during class.
Wanted to say thanks

Feels very safe with all the covid protocols. Everyone is following them too. The classes are great, good instructors that provide good prompts. Can practice virtually too. Best price in town. I drive a little bit extra because not only is the price worth it but the classes are some of the best I've tried.

I had the pleasure of practicing in this studio for the first time this morning and it was a wonderful experience, start to finish. Craig welcomed me warmly and explained the very thorough COVID precautions that have been taken. I felt safe and comfortable, as well as welcomed into this lovely yoga community. I've booked my next class and am looking forward to it!

I have been practising on and off at Calgary Hot Yoga since 2004. During Covid I realized that I had been taking hot yoga and classes in general for granted. It was easy not to go as there would be another the next day. Well that will never happen again. I am so happy to be back and practising. Craig and his team are so accomodating and upbeat everytime you walk in and the measures they have taken to protect us at crazy this time in the world is impeccible. Calgary Hot Yoga is my happy place right now and could be yours too you just have to get there.

I have had the pleasure of going to Calgary Hot for about a year and a half now and I have always enjoyed my experience. The staff are very kind, always ask about my experience after classes, make an effort to remember my name and are always willing to answer any questions I may have about my practice after the class. The community to practice with is very friendly and fun community as well! This is important to me because not only do the people make it welcoming they also help to keep me accountable and help motivate me on or off the mat with my practice.
They also are on top of it when it comes

I have been going to Calgary Hot Yoga since it opened. Why would I go anywhere else! I especially enjoy the 6 am classes - it is a great way to start the day! Craig comes up with different ways for yogis to shake up their practice. November is Bingo month - and this provides me with an opportunity to try new classes, class times and instructors. The instructors are great, the facility is very clean and I hope to practice for a very long time!

One of the few hot yoga studios in the city. Staff are all very welcoming and helpful. The studio is clean and the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a yoga studio. Unfortunately some of the instruction is very scripted and repetitive. In my last few classes I saw students in the back looking confused or performing poses dangerously incorrect - but the instructor failed to repeat any helpful cues. For anyone new to yoga it might be a challenging studio to start with. I've been attending this studio off and on for years - I love it!

I had my first Calgary Hot Yoga experience and it was incredible. Kristen was an amazing instructor and as someone who does not practice hot yoga regularly she made me feel very comfortable and provided great direction and guidance. Thank you for an amazing experience and I look forward to attending Kristen's class again soon.

I have never tried yoga so my concern was comfort level in the sense I am inexperienced and going in to an unfamiliar place. This place was great. The instructor was friendly, the people were friendly, I'll definitely be going back and recommend it to anyone else who may be curious or just wanting to try something new.

The other day, I dropped into Calgary Hot Yoga with my dragon boat team because the Reservoir was closed due to high water levels. It was my first time ever, and seeing as I had only been out of the hospital a whole week and a 1/2, I thought it would be a good way to work out without the hard cardio and impact training I normally like to do.
Damn I was wrong. It's waaaay harder than I thought, and I bless my folks for sending me to HK and Taiwan all those years ago, otherwise I would have just gone completely nuts over the heat. Honestly, when they say hot yoga, I didn't expect a

Although the studio is a little experienced, the people are great. I have been attending the weds morning karma class and it is fantastice. The instructor is very motivating and I'm definetly feeling the burn for several days after. Loving the results and loving the minimal impact on my daily routine. Thank yout Calgary Hot Yoga!

This is my favorite Hot Yoga studio in Calgary. I have been coming here since 2005 and tried other studios and will continue to go to them but make CHY my home studio. I love the fact that there is consistency in the classes and that there is no music during them. For me, yoga is a time to focus on me and my body and leave the "noise" outside. I don't think playing music for music's sake is conducive to my practice so I appreciate the opportunities to truly focus on yoga and not be bothered by either Top 40 choices or music that has been used for other purposes (like funerals

This is a great studio with some good specials every so often. They have 15, 30, and 60 day challenges available at the moment. The instructors for the most part are very fluid, inspiring, and knowledgeable. They make an effort to get to know names which makes you feel more at home and comfortable. There is not a lot of variation in classes. They have two to choose from with plenty of convenient times. The studio is smaller but provides a more intimate atmosphere. Also, free and easy parking is available.

I have done 20 or so classes at Calgary Hot. It's close to my house so a bit more convenient than Hot on 17th.
Pros:
-good instruction
-lots of parking
Cons:
-class content doesn't seem to change - if you like variety in your classes this may not be the place for you
-not the most beautiful studio you have never been in. The studio has no natural light
-seems like a weird schedule to me. Because the classes are longer than hot on 17th there are fewer classes (and possible time slots) to attend.
That said, I will still continue to go for the odd class but it won't be my home studio
