At York Mills, we offer Dental Bonding services that can correct the alignment of your teeth, as well as their position in regards to bite. A dental bridge is a non-removable appliance which is used to fill the space where a tooth was removed or has fallen out. Brace can correct the alignment of your teeth, as well as their position in regards to bite.
Bonding (also known as "composite bonding") can be great for a smile that has developed some aesthetic damage or small defects like shots, chips, or gaps between teeth. Our dentists will use materials that made the shade, translucency, and texture of your teeth, and apply the tooth-coloured resin to the tooth.
Crowns are used when a tooth becomes heavily decayed, damaged, or cracked, and a filling is no longer enough to restore the tooth. Crowns serve as a permanent cover for the tooth, to save it from further damage and prolong its life. Situations a crown be may required are: broken or fractured teeth, cosmetic enhancement, heavily decayed teeth, fractured fillings, large fillings, and root-canal treated teeth.
A dental bridge is a false tooth that is held in place by being attached to the teeth next to it, resembling a bridge. Dental bridges used to fill the space where a tooth has been removed, or has fallen out. The bridge will preserve the integrity or your existing teeth by preventing them from shifting to fill the space of the missing tooth.

I started bringing my kids here a few years ago and was really happy with the patience and care by Dr. Shum, Dr. Yuen and their team. They are great with kids! However, I was blown away after I brought my mom to see Dr. Shum last year because her teeth were in bad shape and I wanted a second opinion. She’s over 70 and has seen many dentists in her time and she told me Dr. Shum treated her with the best care she’s ever had. Dr. Shum took the time to explain all the procedures and was careful with her teeth ensure the least pain. My mom will happily continue to visit Dr. Shum in the future! Thanks

A great dental practice. My 2 kids ( under 10) attend this practice along with myself. Dr Shum is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to detail. I was most appreciative when she recommended an endodontist complete my extremely complicated root canal. I appeciate an honest dentist who always looks out for her patients best interest. She is amazing with kids and put both of mine at ease while doing work on them. I would recommend this practice 100%.

After years of being a rebellious teenager, eating sugar tons and not brushing my teeth regularly, basically neglecting my teeth, Dr. Sham did her best to bring my smile back to life! It's still a work in progress, but I am so so so much happier with where I am currently at. 11 cavities was my diagnosis and she did everything in her power to prevent having to do a root canal on one that was particularly bad. She is very informative, and answers any questions you may have. I am more than likely to recommend this practice to friends and family. If ONLY I had taken photos before, so YOU could see

I have had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Waldman for about 10 years now and had extensive work performed by her a number of years ago to correct childhood dental issues. Also, the office is up to date with all the COVID19 protocols (forms, checking temperature, while I was there I saw a staff member disinfecting the entire entrance area more than once), makes me feel at ease knowing that they want to make sure everyone is safe. I am so happy that I found this dental clinic! I was apprehensive about going to the dentist in this covid climate but I felt very safe. I never felt nervous being there. The staff were also knowledgeable and friendly. The staff and Dr. Shum made me feel comfortable and at ease. Even when I had an emergency on the weekend she was available to walk me through my problem. I have yet to meet another dentist so dedicated to her patients. Thank you for the amazing service. The dentists and staff at York Mills Family Dentistry are fantastic. I recently had cosmetic dental work performed by Dr. Carol Waldman. She provided detailed explanations and was very patient with all of my questions. She made excellent recommendations and ensured that I was 100% happy with the results of my dental work.
