Services
Alana has been blessed to have lived in the Okanagan for 15 years and has raised her 2 children in the Summerland area. She began her career at Summerland Optometry in 2010 and quickly fell into the role of dispensing and lab work. Alana loves to help our patients see more clearly by making it fun and less stressful to choose the right frame for their prescription.
After booking your appointment, we will email you on online form to collect all the necessary information regarding your systemic and ocular health. Our optometric assistants will carry out a series of important tests and photographs before your appointment with the doctor. At Summerland optometry, we understand that your vision is important to you.
Age related macular degeneration is a potentially visually devastating disease that affects your central vision. Your prognosis depends on the form and severity of the disease as well as your risk factors. The macula of the eye refers to the small central area of the retina which is highly specialized to resolve detail.
At Summerland Optometry we are committed to offering our patients the most advanced diagnostic equipment and technology available to detect and treat eye disease. We believe that preventative eye care is an important part of total eye health. Optos ultra-widefield retinal imaging produces a high-resolution digital image of the back of the eye including, the macula, the optic nerve and the periphery of the eye, in one panoramic image.
Dry eye disease can be frustrating given the limitations of current therapies. We are committed to keeping up-to date with therapies to offer the most innovated products and treatments available. Dry eye is a multifactorial condition so each patient requires an individual treatment plan. A careful examination of the eyelids, the external eye and the tear film is critical to establishing a treatment plan for each individual case.
