Worry no more when you need glasses in a pinch, Optometry on Bernard will get you looking and seeing your best. Dr. Darren Hatchard B.Sc., O.D. was born in Red Deer, Alberta and raised in Singapore. After completing his undergraduate degree inVision Science and Forensic Chemistry at University of Central Oklahoma, he completed his Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University in Oregon.

For eighteen years, he practiced full scope Optometry with treatment and management of ocular disease in the Cayman Islands prior to the legislation to do so in Canada. Dr. Hatchard is a current board member of the British Columbia Association of Optometry (BCAO). He also has opened British Columbia's first exclusive dry eye treatment centre in Kelowna.

Amazing service, I lost my glasses on vacation and Doreen took my prescription and got me sample contacts and supplies in 5 minutes (and I was a random drop in). She also and didn’t charge me a dime. Highly recommend giving her your business!

This was by far the best eye doctor I've been to with my kids. The doctor was so nice and was very good at what he does. But Koodoos to Doreen who is the most sweetest, friendliest hands on women. My kids had the best experience here. Highly recommended.

Amazing service...Deborah was a total dream. I found the perfect pair of frames and I’m in love! I ended up buying a pair that I would never have thought to try oh my own but Deborah picked them out and she was bang on! 100% recommend. Shop local over ordering online! My first experience with Doreen at Optometry on Bernard was incredible. She is such a caring and beautiful soul. She is extremely knowledgeable and loves what she does and it shines! Doreen helped me into an amazing pair of glasses. Also a beautiful pair of sunglasses. The whole process was fun and effortless. You feel like family when you shop here. I have a strong prescription on the plus side which requires special needs such as proper eye measurements and ensuring that the lenses characteristics meet the eye and the frame edges properly. I had been going to LensCrafters for over 20 years where an optician named Doreen did the finest of work for me. Once she moved to Optometry on Bernard, I had no choice but to follow her there. I recently purchased 2 new pairs of prescription sunglasses lenses and as always the job was done to perfection. Doreen is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled at what she does, is extremely friendly and courteous
