Have been visiting Metta about 2-4 times a week for the past 6 weeks and would recommend this place to anyone.
I started coming because as a healthcare worker my body was starting to suffer the effects of constant movement and poor body mechanics, within a month of regular classes my issues are no more. On top of the added benefits of increased strength & balance, weight loss, improved mental health and the motivation to lead a more active lifestyle.
The instructors are very kind and helpful and they encourage everyone to go at their own pace. You feel welcomed with no judgment, ever, regardless

I’ve done two classes at Metta south so far and I have been blown away! Friendly helpful staff and so inclusive and accepting! I felt so comfortable the minute I walked in. They make it known that everyone is accepted just the way you are and to honour and respect your body. This is SUCH an important message given the world’s current circumstances. I’m also excited for my 5 & 7 year old to try their kids classes! I’m sure Metta will soon become my new second home ❤️

Imagine that a yoga studio pushing vaxx mandates when even Delta airlines and 60% of the San Diego police force said no. The vaxx kills perfectly healthy kids and adults. And you want your patrons to prove they took the shot ?! To practice yoga. Who cares about yoga if Pfizer is poisoning you. You could’ve said no and took 1/3 capacity but you chose to make money over health. You’re a disgrace to the practice of yoga GYF

My friend & I bought passes and we have only completed 5 or 6 classes. When we logged back into our accounts, our passes expired. Under normal non pandemic circumstances, I understand, but taking into consideration the current situation, we would imagine that there would be some empathy....We contacted them via phone and of course, no one is available to pick up the phone. We also left VM and email, and no one has the decency to reply to our concerns. For this reason, we will likely not return to this yoga place. So unprofessional and lack of courtesy.

Highly disappointing. Here visiting. Tried to call studio several times to make sure it was open and if they rent mats. Since I just took yoga class at another studio I was able to rent a mat but could not at Metta Yoga. I took an Uber 20 min to get to the studio to learn I could not rent a mat. I wish the valley girl working the front desk would have answered the phone or there was a way I could have known that to save me the 2o min trip in an Uber.

Metta Yoga Edmonton is, quite easily, the best yoga studio I've been to in Edmonton. I took the Flow class at the second south location (we'd previously been to the Edmonton West studio) and the class, and Christina's teaching, was truly the most challenging, impressive, and enjoyable hot yoga classes I've ever been to. And I'm not a huge hot yoga fan so that says A LOT. I'll get into why later, but the coles notes: She gave more modifications for each pose than I've ever seen, making the class a wonderful mix of relaxed enough to do your own thing but inspiring enough to try something new.

Love love hot yoga!
Very similar to the south side location I normally frequent, but CRAZY busy (when it comes to the Friday night karma class)! o_O
Thankfully the karma classes are run in a similar fashion, which helps you understand and expect what moves are coming and helps you prepare for the transition into the next pose :)
I believe the change rooms are slightly smaller than the other location, with slightly less space between the shower/bathrooms and the cabinets with the lockers. While the cabinet-turned-lockers were nice, I prefer the other location which had combination locks for

I like the classes here but my main complaint are that the staff come off as very cliquey. Some are downright rude to you. They greet the regulars but won't even look at people they don't know. The main entrance is always loud with people laughing and chatting. It's disruptive when you're trying to chill out before class or come out of savasana. I keep going because it's a style of yoga I enjoy.

I have gone to Moksha for years and absolutely love it! Its like that old friend who even if you don't see for a while it is like nothing has changed when you go back (except maybe your flexibility). I have tried a few other hot yoga studios out over the years as they're within walking distance from home but nothing comes close to Moksha. I enjoy the south studio because it has the extra room so if you have a tight schedule chances are they have something they can make work. The instructors are always so positive and helpful, and I always leave feeling fantastic. Love this place!!!

I highly recommend Moksha Yoga Edmonton. The instructors are all very friendly and knowledgeable, and they all put their own unique spin on the Moksha sequence. The studios are large and clean, and the changing rooms offer lots of room to shower, change and store your belongings. The whole atmosphere at the studio is very welcoming and warm for beginners and experienced practitioners alike!

Moksha yoga smells amazing considering how many sweaty people they cram into one very hot room! I am pretty terrible at yoga but keep on trying! It's a welcoming environment and I've never felt judged by my inexperience or lack of skill. Sometimes I do have to look at other yogis to see what I'm suppossed to be doing...... and sometimes people mistake me for being a total creep.
Shout out to the guy that shhhh'd the three chatterboxes in todays class! No one cares about your new countertop Karen!!!!

I have been going to Moksha on and off for the last few years. The south side location is wonderful. The locker rooms are nice and clean and both studio rooms have a relaxing ambiance to them. All of the instructor are amazing!! they are so friendly and they bring their own personally flare to each class. I would highly recommend trying out Moksha hot yoga to anyone!

There's something about this studio that warms my heart... aside from the fact that it's a hot yoga studio. I wish that it was closer to my home to attend more regularly but for now I'll have to stick with my Friday night karma class. The wonderful instructors and the earthy vibes are a huge reason I'm drawn to this studio.

This is a fabulous yoga studio.
To give you some context for this review: in 2010 I moved to Edmonton from Portlandia, where I practiced regularly (4-7 times each week) at Bikram Yoga, Yoga in the Pearl, Yoga to the People, and CorePower Yoga. Since I travel quite a bit in Canada and the States, I try to ground myself and learn more about the cities I am visiting by practicing in new studios along the way.
In comparison to the 25 or so yoga studios I have visited during the last 6 six years, Moksha Edmonton has helped me to deepen my practice the most.
What they do well:

I went to this studio for the 1st time and will not return.
I phoned 3 times with 10 minutes interval 45 mins before the 5pm at in class. There was no answer so I just showed up hoping that it us not booked up. She checked me in and I thought I was lucky. The room was packed beyond belief. I was inches away from my neighbors, the the room stinked because it was so crowded. The instructor was very nice but I wish she can give clearer instructions. I contemplated leaving but decided to stay the entire class, then can't wait to get the hell out of that packed, sweaty room.

I came to Moksha yoga last night for the first time at the suggestion of a workout buddy who goes here regularly.
We came to the Friday night Karma class which is a first come, first serve class every Friday at 9PM with a minimum donation of $5 with all proceeds going to charity. It is usually taught by an instructor working towards their 200 hour certification.
First of all, I'd really like to give huge props to all the Yelpers who reviewed this previously - y'all were bang on in your descriptions and tips for a first time Moksha goer.
I will add that the first time you attend, you

There's nothing more relaxing and energizing than a hot yoga session, especially in Edmonton's crazy long winters.
Moksha has a welcoming atmosphere and a positive vibe. There's a small business feel to the studio and all the yoga teachers and additional staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Going to a yoga studio for the first time can be intimidating, and not all studios are as friendly and welcoming, but I felt right at home from the first time I walked into moksha.
I'm not an expert, but the hot yoga classes that they offer are diverse and accommodating for all

Out of the Hot Yoga studios I've been too, Moksha West is my favorite. I am coming from the perspective of a casual visitor. I am in no way a hard core yogi... Though I wish I was.
Prices are fair for the industry. I believe I paid about $220 (?) for 20 sessions. The exact pricing is available on their website, which is easy to navigate and very informative.
The studio is nice and modern, but has limited parking. Get there early if you drive! Doors are locked between classes, for obvious reasons, so those getting dropped off or taking public transit, don't worry about being early

I may be biased because my first hot yoga experience was at this studio, and it kind of made me fall in love with hot yoga altogether! I also volunteered as an Energy Exchanger here for 6 months, so I got to know the staff in a more personal way, which definitely ups the star factor!
What I love about Moksha: I love Moksha because it's tough but gentle. There is no pain while practicing, but there is CHALLENGE. Much like life (ok, it's a review of YOGA, I am allowed to get yogic)! I enjoy the gentle nature of Moksha because I know that it is still a physical and demanding activity, but

I've done yoga at a few places...hot yoga to be precise... and this place is quite lovely. I enjoy the instructors, although I find they can push too hard at times... they are pleasant and good.
My biggest complaint... overbooking. I don't understand why they constantly allow EVERYONE in...when there isn't enough room??? It's VERY annoying when you got there early and late-comers arrive 1-2 min before class starts, forcing people to move over to accomodate them...forcing you to get too close to the people around you!
It's not fair and its uncomfortable!! you can't

As a dancer and an avid workout enthusiast, I have tried several yoga studios around town, most of them hot yoga.
For me, Moksha strikes the perfect balance of comfort while maintaining your ability to be pushed.
When I first began hot yoga in general, I hated it. It's a practice that requires extreme focus and tolerance and to be honest, the heat is difficult to get used too.
But as time went on and I explored different studios, hot yoga became my favourite workout experience and more specifically, Moksha as a studio, is my top recommendation.
Unlike other studios, Moksha runs at 60

Hot yoga is a workout like no other - your goal the first time you go is to stay in the room. I bust a sweat just lying there, and I also feel as though I get more out of each posture.
I prefer Moksha over Bikram, because in Moksha the standing postures are all in one series, then followed by the sitting postures - as opposed to the sit-stand-repeat of Bikram, which is trouble for anyone prone to orthostatic hypotension or with balance problems.
Be prepared for class - bring water, microfibre towels to lay on your mat and to wipe yourself down with.
One thing that really stands out to me about

I have enjoyed 'hot yoga' since I was introduced to it in 2005 while I was living in Winnipeg. I began with Bikram in Winnipeg, then decided to venture out and try Moksha. The studio in Winnipeg is amazing (and would recommend anyone visiting to try it there) so I never returned to Bikram and turned into a Moksha girl!
After moving to Edmonton in June 2007, I looked for a Moksha studio, unfortunately there was not one. I went to Bikram a few times to full fill my hot yoga fix...but it was not the same. After searching once more in December of 2007, I found out that someone had opened
