At our Eye Care Centre in Calgary, Dr. Al-Ghoul and Dr. Bhamra, specialize in cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, corneal transplantation, and corneal ectasia management. Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghoul is an Ophthalmic surgeon specialized in the field of cataract and corneal Surgery. A native of Saskatchewan, Dr. Al-Ghoul completed his medical degree and Ophthalmology residency training in Saskatoon. He subsequently completed a fellowship in the field of cornea and anterior segment surgery from the prestigious University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre (UPMC).
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Vikram Lekhi, a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist, is joining our Practice. Dr. Lekhi received his Bachelor of Science from Simon Fraser University, obtained his Masters in Bio-Medical Technology, Doctor of Medicine, Master's in Business Administration and a Residency in Ophthalmology at University of Calgary.
Seema Eye Care Centre is excited to announce that we have recently expanded into a larger, 7000 square foot, state of the art space, down the hall from our previous location in the Rockyview Health Building 2. Better suited to patient experience and care, our warm and welcoming new office provides more space for patient seating and comfort.
The friendly faces of our reception team are the first Seema staff members you will see when walking into our clinic. Our reception staff is in charge of fielding all phone calls, triaging emergencies, booking new and current patients, and making sure all of the "behind the scenes" things run smoothly on a daily basis.

Lowered to a 1 star as after 6 months from my referred-out eye ultrasound, I had to call them to follow up for my results and they didn't have them. Ladies were lovely but the office is clearly too busy/understaffed to operate smoothly. I was also never scheduled for a follow up appointment and they were just as confused as I was as to the progress of my treatment/assessment/follow up status. Clearly I was one who fell through the cracks. Unfortunately I am in the process of applying for life insurance and they're insisting on these ultrasound results which no one seems to have***

Super thankful & grateful for Dr. Vikram Lekhi. I suffered from a large chalazion from September 2020 - April 2021 on a very thin and sensitive area, my right eye lid. I went through numerous optometrists and physicians including a number of medications with 0 improvement. I was referred to Dr. Vikram Lekhi as a final option.

Absolutely terrible customer service and clinic. I dont think the people working in there have a clue how to manage and organize appointments as my moms appointment was rescheduled to day they don’t do surgery and wasted my time completely , No one values your time and appointment. Someone’s time doesn’t mean anything here over book and under delivering on services that lack save yourself a trip and energy and go to a different Clearly no one cares how you are treated here.

Whilst I appreciate that Seema deals with a great many patients and that inevitably for the staff, and also for those in the surgery centre, it can become a little like a conveyor belt or production line the beneficial difference that you all make to people’s lives should not be forgotten or ignored. Sight is a most precious sense and Dr. Al-Ghoul and his team, helps hundreds of people have that sense restored, and in my particular case greatly improved. I reccomend Seema Eye Care, they were awesome! They have shown me great knowledge and urgency with my issue. I'm so grateful for the care that was given. There was a wait time, however, I was treated with compassion for my cateracts and it was dealt with accordingly. I have confidence in my great result that I can now do my job efficiently. * Dropped my grandmother here. ( 12noon - 1630H out)
* 1530H I arrived for pickup.
* 1600H I tried to asked their front desk ( no one identified my grandmother they said no history or appointment on her name.
* In the end, grandmother took the bus, I got the rush hour traffic.

I am not sure if every other person who comes there gets told they have to go through a cataract surgery. I had gone there to get checked up for another eye symptom which turned out to be a non issue. But i was told i had to do one or it will get worse. I went through it an it didnt go well. I told them i had lasik surgery and i dont want to lose my sight but after the surgery, they didnt correct the astigmatism. i also had to pay and additional cost not covered by my insurance for better near vision and now i have to wear glasses. Dr Ghoul doesnt take more than 5 min with the patients and follow

Had appointment on Tuesday. The doctor had an emergency patient. We had a longer wait. I was disgusted with the behavior of people waiting. One man resorted to raging at staff. The great news is that staff was professional .
It is sad to see the level of entitlement that still exists during a pandemic. People need to do better! No one going to work needs to be treated so poorly!
Everyone that I dealt with was excellent. Including the manager. This lady went above and beyond to accommodate me.
We are fortunate to have access to this service

We have dealing with this clinic for my father's eye surgery for a year. First time we were there they were one hour behind appointment time. I understand things happen. Second time they were behind schedule I ended up with a 90.00 parking ticket I couldn't leave my father to wait as he has severe cataracts and dementia. The 3 rd time was 2.5 hours past the appointment time when I asked when they were going to see us they didn't know. Now

While the doctors may be professional the way the clinic is managed is disrespectful to clients time. There is zero adherence to any ‘appointment times’ . It is unclear how they are managing the fluid flow of people from waiting room to waiting room however each time we’ve been we’ve waited hours. It is not run efficiently and is challenging to sit and wait unknowingly for well over an hour after your appointment time.

Dr. Ahmed Al Ghoul. He was absolutely amazing! He made me feel so at ease talked me through the surgery. I had an incredible experience. I have had many surgeries...full hip replacement,full shoulder replacement..3 hand surgeries ,and many more. This was the surgery I was scared of most. I developed a rare cataract in Nov and my vision… worsened daily. I did not feel anything and it went exceptionally well. Today, two days after surgery everything is so vivid and clear. I can see the smallest print on everything. The staff went above and beyond. Dr Ghoul called me at home the night of surgery

I just went to have my eyes measured for laser cataract surgery and I wanted to share my very positive experience. Naima was my IOL technician and she was very professional and very friendly. She was running a little behind, but she told me that right away, and gave me the option to leave and come back if I wished. i did stay and she was only 45 minutes behind. I've waited longer for regular Doctor's appointments!

I have just completed cataract surgery to both eyes with Dr Al Ghoul and his staff. This has been an amazing experience from start to finish. The professional timely care given by this organization is second to none. I have never experienced a health care treatment so thoroughly performed. Dr Al Ghoul telephoned me at home the evening after the… first surgery was performed. Now, I ask you: WHEN HAS A SURGEON EVER CALLED YOU AT HOME TO CONFIRM THAT EVERYTHING IS OK? I was totally surprised. This man had just finished a 12 hour shift performing surgeries and still took the time to call patients

Dr Lekhi and his team are amazing, with special thanks to the pre-op team at High River hospital. They all made me feel very comfortable throughout the process of my cataract surgery, from initial consultation to post surgery care and beyond. The surgery was painless and, dare I say, enjoyable! My long time Ophthalmologist retired and my file was referred to the Seema Eye Care. My first experience was very poor, starting off with limited PAID parking. My appointment was set for 1:45 p.m. but I didn't move up the conveyor of patients until 3:15. Meanwhile the parking meter is ticking. When the 5th person to invite me into the little examining room asked "How are you". My reply politely was "I would rather not answer the question" as I was out of patience. I am particularly offended by the paid parking.
