A sight test is more than just measuring how well you see or to identify if you need glasses or contact lenses. Within the eye test the Optometrist will check the health of your eyes. It is even possible to detect some general health conditions during an eye test such as high blood pressure or diabetes.
All of our frames are custom adjusted to fit your face. We take a special care to ensure that your new spectacles sit comfortably and securely. Frames should sit straight & level and not slide down the nose. This is particularly important with progressive lenses, where movement of the frame may affect the visual performance.
At New Wave Optical in Calgary, AB we offer an emergency service. Our onsite laboratory can provide a pair of single vision glasses on the same day in most cases. You never know when an emergency will occur. We also carry a large inventory of contact lenses so if you get caught short we can usually find your exact lenses or a suitable alternative to get you out of a tricky situation.

Terrible place. The staff are rude and unprofessional. After paying for my eye check to get contacts the staff refused to give me my eye prescription. I would leave messages for the manager and she never got back to me. Emails or phone calls. This one time I emailed the staff and said I wanted to report the poor customer service I got, one of the girls pretended to be the manager, used her name in the email said she was there and when I called and came in the manager didn't recall any of it. The manager still didn't think to take anything seriously or the staff just didn't want to let her know
