I chose to come here after moving into the area because I thought it was super convenient. However, the convenience is not worth it. The hygienist I had was great and very friendly but all the other staff seemed to be stuck up, rude or just unhappy to be there. The dentists themselves do good enough work but have terrible chair-side manner and show no personal interest and it's the same with the assistants- it seems to be all strictly business all the time and is not a welcoming or comforting environment- it feels overly clinical.

Surprisingly painless tooth extraction and bonegrafting procedure. Dr. Yee explained everything he would do, and was very efficient. I experienced no discomfort at all. The only thing was that I felt I received little instruction on post-surgery care. After I was done, I was given a small post-surgery package and told that I was allowed to go. If I had not asked questions to find out how to care for my teeth post-surgery, I would have done all the wrong things :/

Beware of being up sold expensive optional procedures, tried two dentists here and both give unreasonable quote, they are money driven and will ask you to do unnecessary repairs. I went to another dental group for exactly same services and each teeth is $60 cheaper.
I did have two appointments here, first time the filling doesn't match my teeth color, and the second time the filling left sharp edges.

Dr.Benny Lee is a knowledgeable proficient dentist who runs a patient centred practice at Simon Fraser Dental in Burnaby BC. I had LANAP surgery there (not available in Victoria) where he was assisted by friendly staff and advanced technological support. He was attentive to my questions and gave me science based explanations which gave me confidence that I would receive excellent thoughtful treatment. I highly recommend him.

My experience for a general cleaning and assessment with the dental hygienist and dentist was very good. I was satisfied until my experience with the front desk. I was recommended to get a mouth guard and the front desk was to assess my coverage and get back to me. I did not hear back from them for 3 weeks after my dental apt. so called to see what was happening and was told they were still waiting to hear from my coverage. Nearly 2 months has gone by and I called again and left a message to inquire. This was over a week ago and they have not called me back to state what is happening. Due to this

Overall a very good practice. They offer friendly staff, quality care, and a convenient location.
There is only one dentist on staff, so most often you'll be seen by a dental hygienist. I've been here four times, and each time I've been seen by a different hygienist - either there is a very large staff or a lot of turnover. That said, each of them have been very good and considerate of my needs.
This is very good location for students, faculty, and staff, but it is out of the way if you aren't regularly on the SFU campus.
As an added bonus, they provide a 20% discount

Very disappointed with the service at this dental office. I decided to come in because I moved and my previous dentist is completely out of the way. Felt welcome at first as the environment seemed relaxing enough but as I was getting my spec exam it seemed as though there was tension between the dentist (dr.yee) and assistant. Perhaps she was new to the job but either way it was very uncomfortable. Dentist was pushy and rude which made my experience very unpleasant. Not sure if I will be returning or not.

I took my wife here for her checkup and would give them 2.5 out of 5. The quality of the Dental service was good however the lack of admin prep and over charging was disappointing. As requested my wife provided her dental plans info 3 weeks in advance so their office would have time to contact the insurance company to confirm the exact plan details in order to tailor the checkup to capabilities of the plan. To our disappointment, they had not even bothered to call before her checkup visit and actually asked for her insurance info again when we arrived. As a result they charged her for work not

I have been very happy with my services at SFU dental! Not only has everyone been friendly but I have had great service. Dr Yee found a filling that didnt show up in normal X-ray but was concerned about. Turns out my old filling had rotted out but was caught in time so I didn't have a root canal. My previous dentist paled in comparison. Very happy with my choice to come here!

I've been a patient of Dr. Yee's for over 3 years now. He has always been very helpful and informative and I've always had good experiences with his hygienists and reception staff.
I also had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Jeroff, who was very friendly and able to put me at ease during my operation. There were no complications post-surgery thanks to Dr. Jeroff's expertise.
I don't live particularly close to SFU, but I am happy enough with the service at Simon Fraser Dental to keep going back.

Went here as I am away from home and needed to go to the dentist. I had mild pain in one of my teeth and thought I should get it checked out. I was asked repeatedly if there was any cold or heat sensitivity, i consistently responded with no and that temperature sensitivity has never been a problem and that i only experienced pain when chewing/biting. The dentist (not sure of whom, and my bill does not list the name and it is not one listed on their website) after stating that he could see decay chose to conduct a pulp vitality test without my consent and despite the knowledge that I did not
