Services
Dr. Rattray grew up in Barrhaven and attended Confederation High School and the University of Ottawa where he obtained a BSc in Biochemistry. He then went on to the University of Western Ontario for a masters and a Doctor of Dental Surgery. After practicing in Pembroke, Ontario for 2 years, he practiced in Ottawa for 2 and half more years before purchasing the dental practice of Dr. David McAulay on Merivale Road in 2008.
There are variety of ways to create improvements to the look of your teeth and gums such as whitening, adding material to the surfaces of the teeth with porcelain veneers or bonding of composite material, using our soft tissue laser, or straightening your teeth with orthodontics, such as Invisalign.
We provide comprehensive, modern assessment and maintenance of the gums and bone that support your teeth. Through regular analysis of the health of the tissues (APA - Adult Periodontal Assessment), we monitor the integrity of the tissues supporting dental structures and have a variety of methodsat our disposal to diagnose and treat the presence of disease, such as gingivitis and periodontal disease.
Since 2006, we have offered start-to-finish dental implant treatment, all here in our office, completed for a more affordable, non-specialist fee. Implants can be used to replace missing teeth for function and/or aesthetics or can be even used to firmly hold a loose denture in place. We understand that they sound scary, but they are a lot easier than you may think!
Our team takes our time to ensure your child is comfortable in the dental chair. We believe in establishing a lifelong, enjoyable relationship with our youngest patients, rather than just 'getting through today's appointment'. You'll be pleasantly surprised when your child looks forward to their dentist appointment with us.

I had a first time wonderful experience at Dr Rattrey’sBarrhaven location. I have been a client of a downtown dentist for 30 years. I was seeking something closer to home.
The reception was warm, the staff very professional and they listened to me when I explained some issues we might encounter along the way. There were explanations for each step of the appointment... very good care.
I recommend them highly.

I used to have "terrible" anxiety when going to the dentist, until I became a patient of Dr.Rattray.
He has a wonderful, professional, charming and calming personality.
My husband, kids and grandson go to Dr. Rattray too :)

I know that sounds weird - how awesome can people be if they want to look inside people's mouths all day? Well, believe it. My family has been seeing Dr. Rattray for some time. More recently we needed some more involved work for my son who gets pretty anxious about most things and this was no different. Dr. Rattray and his wonderful colleagues were wonderful with my son and managed the situation and process as well as anyone could. I am one of those people that does not really enjoy going to the dentist. But, I had to write a review for Dr. Chloe Pfahl, Dentist as my experience with her was actually positive! She was very professional, kind, caring and took time to explain what she was doing. I was not nervous with her at all. My tooth was fixed very quickly and most important; no discomfort!
I definitely recommend Dr. Pfahl, she is an excellent Dentist!

As a person with a severe phobia of dentists I found Dr. Rattray through reading reviews of many dentists in Barrhaven. He and his staff had the most favourable ratings. I made my first appointment with great trepidation. The staff could not have been more friendly or reassuring. I have received extensive treatment from Dr. Rattray and I would give him and all of his staff more than 5 stars if possible.

Please accept my thanks and appreciation for the excellent, caring and courteous service along with the speedy work involved with my recent incident. I was looked after within a couple of hours. The finished work required 3 crowns and a bridge with 2 front teeth. That was all completed within 2 months.
I highly recommend Dr. Rattray to any new patients, his work is excellent.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kevin Rattray for many years, and have recently met his wonderful associate, Dr. Chloe Pfahl. Both are outstanding dentists who go above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, and explain any procedures in detail. They are also fantastic with my young son. He feels at home during his visits. This family-friendly local Barrhaven office is inviting and warm...the experience with my 8 year old son was amazing...He had a large cavity fixed on his adult molar with Dr. Pfahl and the appointment went so well he asked when he needed to go back and get his other one fixed!!! Dr. Pfahl is gentle and kind and has such a patient personality. Everyone at the office is happy and it is obvious that they enjoy their work :)
