Services
Orthotic use is beneficial for people of all ages who suffer from foot, knee, leg, hip and back pain. Some of Shantz Orthotic Solutions' clients include athletes, individuals with painful arthritis, diabetic foot ulcers and fibromyalgia. Even those who experience unsteadiness while standing or walking can see improvement by using an orthotic device.
A biomechanical assessment is done by our Canadian Certified Pedorthists, C. Ped (C), to determine what is needed to off-load pressure, create better alignment and to decrease pain. This assessment includes a detailed history of previous and current pain. It also includes various motion and flexibility tests while standing and sitting.
Our Pedorthists take a 3-Dimensional cast of your feet that is used to create the orthotics. No two feet are alike. The orthotics replace the insole inside the shoe and can be moved between shoes of similar size/shape. Custom made orthotics must be prescribed by a physician. Custom made orthotics are not always necessary.
Custom made footwear are shoes or boots made 100% for you. Custom made footwear is an option for those who require more than footwear modification and/or orthotics. This is also an option for those who are unable to fit into a typical stock shoe. Our Pedorthists take their time to assess, cast, measure and fit, but it is worth it to be comfortable in your shoes.
Footwear modifications may be required when a client needs more than just orthotics to correct a problem. Modifications to footwear would include a lift for a leg length difference, point stretching for bunions or hammer toes, rockered soles for those with limited range of motion in the ankle, or a buttress/flare to provide additional support and reduce excessive pronation or supination.

I was at Shantz today needing a brace for one of my toes. Christy and staff were very friendly and professional.
Kristy listened to the problem I was having, examined my foot, suggested some alternatives and made me a custom solution to try.
I was very impressed and highly recommend Shantz Orthotics.

I can't say enough good things about Christy Shantz. She has gone above and beyond in making sure that my orthotics are working for me. I had orthotics made before a foot surgery and she has helped to make sure that they are working for me post surgery. I highly recommend seeing Christy for your next pair of orthotics.
