My dedication to my own yoga sadhana, devotion to family and community, and passion for sharing the healing benefits of Ashtanga Yoga have all played an equally important role in what has led me to return to Vancouver Island and build a traditional Ashtanga Yoga Shala in the beautiful city of Victoria.I was born in the Philippines and immigrated to Canada at a young age.

After a long break from Ashtanga due to injury I'm so glad to have found Maria and Sudanti Yoga. Maria helped to re-introduce me to the practice in a way that feels safe and accessible. Her warm, generous, respectful, and confident manner immediately puts you at ease and lets you know you're in good hands. The studio is cozy, welcoming, and spotlessly clean. Thank you Maria for re-inspiring my love of this practice!

I've tried doing yoga through YouTube videos and gyms in the past, it never really agreed with me. I always felt lost and out of place and have even hurt myself trying to mimic what I saw in the videos.
I love going to practice with Maria, she gives me acceptable adjustments that give me a workout without over extending myself and makes me feel welcome. She is supportive and knowledgeable.

Maria is a true gem of a teacher! She's incredibly caring and dedicated, always making sure to help the practice fit to my body and energy level with options and modifications as needed. She offer a perfect combination of softness and strength that is very rewarding to experience.
Ashtanga is a beautiful and deeply therapeutic practice for the body and mind, if approached with the right intention. I've been practicing for almost a year now and continue enjoying the numerous benefits, both on and off the mat. Grateful for this opportunity!🙏✨

Maria is an experienced teacher who is knowledgeable, intuitive and wise. When I became a practitioner of Ashtanga yoga about two years ago, Maria treated me with kindness and respect. Her teaching is systematic and level appropriate and she looks for ways to encourage, connect and include. She is patient, generous, has a wonderful smile and I feel very blessed to have her as a teacher.
